Just an update on my side. Everything seems to be running ok with the odd lag in some streaming sites. Its a lot better than what it was.

edit:

P.s youtube goes perfect just some other sites i stream from sometimes buffer a bit but other than that im happy so to say

I just checked with the LiveChat agent, and I checked the logs for the recent LiveChat sessions, your LiveChat request merged with that of another ongoing chat. This does happen on occasion, you will need to please close your Chat, then request a new session, it should be promptly answered.

Not my problem

Here is a ticket I logged FUN-341-72061

How hilarious the "Fun" part in the ticket.

I have moved the ticket to the Server Admin queue, they will ensure you request is completed promptly.

I thought the IPC upgrade was meant to solve this issue but if anything it is now worse.

The line was always fine during the day and unusable in the evenings, but today has been bad all day.

Surely this is not a result of the system still trying to adapt to the extra bandwidth.

Streamed perfectly on 720p on the weekend for the first time in ages, so thats great, but somehow Afrihost has managed to bugger up my account, and overcharge me. For the 2nd month in a row.

I've sent a ticket to support, lets see what they say.

I will need to look at your ADSL account and ADSL line to be able to check what the issue is, but assuming all is right, you should definitely not be seeing those speeds. Could you send me a PM with the ADSL username please.

Still nothing, from support.

No surprise there

It can take a few hours to complete a request, removing Cpanel - and WHM which are currently integrated into your system - takes time and needs to be completed carefully. I can assure you we are working on completing your request as quickly as possible.

You don't remove anything you simply disable the license from our account then we manually uninstall it via SSH.

But thank you they have responded back to me now.

I appreciate it l.

Well this afternoon I have managed to watch an 80 min movie over a period of 5 hours, Buffer for 30 min, watch for 8 min.
So much for "Pure Internet Joy" it is now the worst it has ever been in the 5 years I have been an Afrihost Customer and yet the status page still says resolved and a Green indication.
Welkom to MTN, "Pure Internet Hell".

Just following up that this has been all sorted?

Sorry to hear that you're having issues with streaming :(
Should all be running smoothly, do you have any tests that I can look at?

No, I gave up on Afrihost and Loaded my Telkom account instead. The line is now streaming at its maximum sync rate, so I have no intention of switching back to Afrihost to run tests now, my wife is busy watching her shows.

I guess I may as well keep the Telkom account and just cancel the Afrihost one.

My 2mbps line is syncing at 1mbps and my speedtest looks like this.

http://speedtest.ookla.com/result/2748661522.png

It used to sync at 2mbps for months and gotten worse after the line got noisy and was 'fixed' ... afterall its nice to have somebody pay for a 2mbps line and supplying 1mbps (Telkom), but :erm: surely I should get better than 777kbps on my 2mbps capped account?

The attainable rate is reported as 1.528 mbps and .833mbps up/down.

Sorry to hear you feel that way, I'm sure we can find an improvement somewhere :)
PM me with some test results when they're available.

It depends on the sync I'm afraid, sounds like there may still be some niggles on the line :(
Have you been in touch with our team to run some profile changes on the sync?

I can't stream but the speed test shows everything is fine. I thought everything should be sorted out by now. Only thing that streams right is YouTube. When I use another account everything is perfect? Is there another problem or something wrong with my account?
