Thor. How far is your WiFi network reach? Do you use range extenders? How your man party going to work?

I have a mikrotik handling the guest logins and then I have 2 Nanostations so about 200m radius each side of my place.

Hi all

Speedtest shows very good results. My ping is the best it's been in months, but youtube struggles to stream.

Anyone else having this issue?

+1 for YouTube

I can't stream higher than 700kbps...

These are excellent results, sorry about the poor streaming :(
I promise we're making good progress on this - it should be fixed up really soon.

I know it's annoying :( We'll have YouTube running via the correct Google cache soon.

Just out of interest if the accounts are unshaped why should a cache be needed?

Is it just a matter of reducing international bandwidth, because I was under the impression that the bottleneck is now Local and not International, or do you have a cache in each city to save on local bandwidth?

Afriman/guy/genie I have sent you guys a number of pm's and thus far I've been told what the problem is but it seems I get the silent treatment regarding any possible solutions.

Logged another ticket with support and seems they have now logged a fault report with Telkom, so at least another 48 hours of getting half the service I'm paying for.

I'm trying to stay patient but I reported this problem on 28/11, it's been a week and a half and nothing seems to be happening.

The major reason to have Google services run from a local cache is that significantly speeds up the response time, and means that you should in theory be able to watch high-quality videos without having to wait for buffering, it does also save some international bandwidth, but major reason is that it improves response time. Some users are seeing significant buffering or stuttering even on 10Mbps + ADSL lines due to the actual content being pulled from European or even US servers.

Our Team is in the process of updating the routing, which once done will ensure that our users have lightning quick streaming again.

Still waiting on the "Critical Team" to reply

:( They were a bit flooded yesterday catching up on the overflow from the weekend, I have asked that they make contacting you a priority.

Our issue was logged on the 1st and last we have heard from them was the 3rd. No replies from emails!!!

Hi Guys
What is the status regarding Double Data for capped ADSL.
Is it going, is it staying?
If it's going, have they made some sort of provision for the people who have absolutely no interest in Plus + and the things that comes with it, Simfy, Mobile etc etc.

When is the double data announcement coming?

There will be an official announcement very soon about Double Data for our Capped users, and it will I cannot go into too much detail yet, but we are taking steps to make up for the issues that we have had over the past weeks.
