Hhhmm, our Dev team could have been pushing through some updates at the time.
The two platforms won't directly impact each other though, unless of course there's an issue in the DC. Anyway, glad you're sorted now!

Thank you :)

Let the downloading begin !

Afri-people, if I sign up for a 100GB account towards the end of this month, will I be given a pro-rata amount of data and charged pro-rata for the days remaining? My 4mbps line is with you guys, so I would also look to bundle the line and data.

Yes, you'll get around 40GB's and pay less than half the normal monthly price.

I actually just buy additional accounts rather than topping up. :D Works out cheaper, and you can cancel the account at the end of the month if you do it before the 25th.

If you downgrade before the 25th, does the downgrade take effect from the 1st of the following month?

Data or line downgrade? IIRC, data downgrade would take effect late evening, close to midnight of the last day of the month. Not sure of the exact timing for line downgrades.

Oi! Soesh! Stfu. Do not put that publicly!

Now they are going to change it. Thanks man

Which is better for gaming: web africa's home capped packages or afrihost's capped packages? I'm signing up for a 2mb line this week and I'm trying to decide on an ISP to go with.

Lots of ppl have said web Africa is better for gaming. Latency is better I think. At least in cape town. Not sure about jhb. Although in afrihost defence lately I have been getting great latency from afrihost. 13ms ping to local servers

No web africa is better for streaming.

Gaming works perfect on my Capped AF account

I have <8ms locally in Cape Town and <175ms internationally (Europe), better than I used to get with mweb.

Yaaaaaay, just home for a change of clothes before work after the weekend and no sync AGAIN!

I have just logged a fault, AfriPeople please chase up immediately with whomever you have contacts with, also request a refund for time down as this is day 6 of no sync this month.

Yes, when you sign up mid-month we calculate a pro-rata rate for pro-rata data based on the remaining days in the month.

For a bundle, the bundle price will not factor into pro-rata, only for your first full month on the bundle.

Yes, the downgrade will only be in effect from the new month, because you have already paid for the current month. There are a few exceptions, like with Uncapped downgrades, but generally that is the rule of thumb.

It's generally the same, usually takes effect around midnight. Lines are a little different because that depends on Telkom, it's usually around the first.

Must be such a mission to manage though. Cancelling accounts and changing usernames. With 2 for 1 topups (especially on Afrihost Plus) it's much easier to just top up at R2.50 per GB :)

I get pretty good performance on my PS and Wii gaming online (sadly, I don't have an Xbox). We also test on PC and gaming is generally pretty good.

Why not sign up a Free GB and try it out for yourself?
