GhostR mentioned that some exchanges have been upgraded and the new equipment does not respond to pings.

Upgraded? My exchange has been upgraded/supports VDSL and it responds just fine. Hell I'm on VDSL right now.

Telkom have been disabling ICMP systematically at the exchanges. It should be disabled soon.

Same here , this has been happening all week. If I try to change ISP or restart my router I cant get it to reconnect to any ISP.

It could be an issue with your router not disconnecting the session properly. Try leaving the router off for 5 mins after entering different ISP details.

There are different IPC's for different regions, So while CPT or DBN might be congested, JHB might not be, But your time will come dont worry.

Definitely a latency issue in CPT, multiple friends on Afrihost having problems, no issues on other ISPs.

The point was more to help AH to see that it is region specific in this case...
