Scenario :-

Sometime in the month (before billing run) I pause a 50 GB package which is part of a bundle. The service gets suspended at the end of the month..

On the first of the following month, I un-pause the service.

Question ? Does the service become active immediately, and will I be billed the normal (full) rate of the 50Gb Bundle?

Question 2? If I un-pause in the middle of the month, will I be charged pro-rata?

Pretty good question. Does this apply to the uncapped as well? What happens when cancelling the service while it is paused?

Ideally, the unpaused service should always be billed pro-rata. So if you do that on the 1st of the month, or a reduced amount if you do so in the middle of the month. I can get a little tricky though, especially with bundles becuase of the discounts applied.

I'm not sure if you can cancel when paused. Doubt anything will break

You can pause any data service (not lines)

I must compliment Afrihost of this feature. Very forward thinking. My folks had their telephone pole chainsawed-down and the cables stolen, so it's been a huge benefit that they could just pause their service with AH and resume when/if Telkom decides to replace it.
