Afrihost Capped connection dropping

I am testing an Afrihost capped account (with the view of dropping MWEB uncapped which is seriously pissing me off). My connection is dropping every now and again and I am wondering what the issue could be? I am using NETGEAR DG834G router.

aint that the router that overheat ? go feel it if it is hot then it could be the problem

I am on afrihost (JHB) and they have dropped a few times this last weekend. Enough that I have had to get a gig of webafrica prepaid so I can level my wow toon.

You know this would be a hell of a lot less painful if you provided details.

I am wondering what the issue could be?

1. Defective POTS
2. Faulty port at exchange
3. Defective other device on the line (Fax, alarm sys etc)
4. Overheating router
5. Leaking microwave nearby
6. Rusted connectors
7. Moisture in cable/connectors
8. Poor line stats. Sometimes they randomly change.
9. ISP

Start with 4 & 8, then 1 and 3. Netgears get hot. Mount it vertically & see if it changes anything. If you think its the ISP then buy some cap from a different ISP & see. Rather unlikely though if you had the problem under Afrihost and MWeb.

From the replies I have deduced that it is a problem with Afrihost. No need to do all the rest.
