Afrihost Capped Service = Big Fail

I have been with AH for many years on the 60 gig product and have always had good speeds and service. Since moving to MTN the speeds are absolutely dreadful. International is less than a meg, can't even play You tube and I sync @ 8032 kbps.
I really really don't want to abandon AH after all this time but my patience is running out. Worse is that guys I have recommended to AH are now also leaving.
This move from IS should have been phased in slowly, big bang doesn't always work.

I'm truly sorry to hear that your experience has been poor. I use a 50GB account personally and performance has been pretty good, so I'm not sure if there are other issues affecting the performance you're getting.

I am on the same pkg and just down the road (Plattekloof) I sync @10014, no problem here.

I'm using a 35gb capped account, don't have any problems. Speed is very good.

You are probably hooked into the plattekloof exchange. Here in Parow North (other side of the National Road) near the tennis club we are linked to the parow post office on voortrekker road.

I'm not concerned with the sync rate, I am upset that I get .49 of a meg download on international.

Yes I have also noticed a drop in continuous d/l speed since the switch to MTN

keng23, are you sure this is related to AH... Have you tried with another ISP? You can get 5Gb free from Imaginet just for a try.... I get about 800KB/s (8Mbps or so) on Int. download, sometimes less depending depending on the site, with my capped AH.
