I need to know if this is possible.

On Monday my Telkom line is disconnected (an account issue) but my modem stays plugged in

On Tuesday evening, my line is back up and all is working

BUT, data usage on Monday is 5gb and Tuesday is 8gb.

I can understand data from Tuesday evening, but on Monday?

How is this possible when the line is down??

Afrihost doesn't allow concurrent connections. Only that phoneline is authorised to dial in.
Check on your usage log on the Afrihost clientzone when the data was used, and how (small bits, large downloads, etc).

Why not log a support ticket and ask them to look into it?

I phoned and the support guy initially said that their stats are accurate on a daily basis. This was before I mentioned my dilemma. Then after chatting to someone he said that they had issues with their stats over the weekend and they were not accurate and were out about a week.

Do their stats run from midnight to midnight.

I am not sure when my line was actually disconnected.

We had an issue with our bandwidth counting that may explain. Basically we realised that we had been under-reporting usage, so we had to recitfy this issue. Unfortunately in a few specific cases there were also duplications in doing so. So a few people received some strange bandwidth reports. I believe this was all reversed on our side so your reports should be back to normal.

Please DM me so we can make sure that this is actually the case, and so I can rectify any outstanding issues if so :)

No concurrent connections, I am on uncapped.

Client zone does show usage.

I am a bit concerned that someone has been using my account.

We would be able to check from your authentication logs if any other number has accessed your account. Unlikely due to restrictions, but we can make 100% sure at any time. You can also draw these data logs in ClientZone, which will display the sessions along with the CLID (calling station)
