Hello,

I noticed today that my data has been reduced?

I used to get 5+5 gigs for R300 pm, now I have about half that?

Why would anyone in their right mind want to stay with Afrihost,

CellC has better coverage and 30% cheaper with their Giga20...

MTN probably trying to kill off the competitive edge Afrihost offered

Didn't you notice all the AH emails and mybb posts on the topic in the past few months? If you want all that stuff you're used to - it now costs an extra R99 extra for AH+. If you don't like it - change service providers.

My major gripe is that they've provided no option for people who simply want the double data. They're a service provider who've (imo) completely ignored what most people actually want (data). They've stripped it away and only offered it as part of a larger bundle.

I don't really want to change either. I enjoy the reps on this forum. Their service has been great thus far. But this latest move really sucks and they refuse to budge on the issue, constantly playing the 'you don't have to take AH+ if you don't want to' card.

Meh. Tired of this.
 
I cancelled my 2 sims and they are now dead. That's the new normal for their mobile. I haven't even jumped to their sister co Axxess am going to use Telkom for now
 
Our Double Data promotion for Mobile Data has unfortunately ended as of the end of December. :(

We tried to keep the promotion going as long as possible, but it was no longer proving feasible to continue providing Double Data.

My aunt was visiting during the holidays. Her provider is Cell C. There was an R on the status bar meaning roaming. None of her data would work. I had to give her wifi access to be able to use Whatsapp. Why would anyone use Cell C ? Much of their coverage (which you boast about) is actually roaming on Vodacom, where you are a 2nd class customer.

I must disagree I am on Cell c with my phone and its not all bad, I think it is more around where you stay I get better reception from Cell C than MTN at home.

if you are in major city or surrounding you will be fine.

Were we not promised when we signed up for the double deal that it would not be taken away from our subs the minute the promo ended?

I will go look for my emails when we signed up just when this double deal started.

So what you want to tell me is that I have three sims and to keep the double deal I will have to subscribe three times to AH+.
I think thats a bit of a cheek.
But any who I have LTE connectivity with Telkom at home, so I will be moving over to them with all my devices.

We had consistent mention of the promotion ending at various times (or possibly being extended as it was at least 2 or 3 times). The only way to allow some clients to retain Double Data was to devise the Afrihost Plus membership which would make offering double data on DSL (and mobile especially) viable on an ongoing basis.
 
The fact is Afrihost 5Gb R300, CellC 5Gb + 15 R189.

Moving to CellC. Problem solved!

Also: CellC Coverage in my area is 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 better than MTN..
