I just wanted to drop a quick line rather than start a thread, and say that I'm seeing incredible server response with your DirectAdmin.
110-120ms compared to 400+ on cPanel, using a 100% identical site cloned across. And I prefer the DirectAdmin user experience over cPanel. My account isn't a reseller one, but the DirectAdmin documentation shows the provisioning of client accounts and other WHM functionality right there within the main control panel interface. Bloody nice, imo.
Nevermind complications with cPanel licenses, I just think DirectAdmin is nicer to use. What are the downfalls? I assume they must exist or everyone would jump ship?

Shot for the feedback and glad to hear you’re enjoying directadmin - so are we, so much so that we’re moving our own sites over to it. Management is far simpler, yet more powerful and it’s not as bloated as cpanel.
With regards to other hosts not moving over, I know of a few local hosts who have already migrated. I reckon that as the general public see the simplicity of directadmin demand for it will increase.

And I appreciate the test account. I wouldn't have otherwise become wise to cPanel shenanigans and the real cause of my frustration with server response times. Thanks a bunch Jade.
I forgot to mention that GTmetrix shows the DirectAdmin site loading an entire second faster than the cPanel one. That is just ridiculous. No wonder obsessive local developers can't achieve 0.5 second load times - idiot cPanel is adding 1 second on top of everything else.
I really don't understand why cPanel is as ubiquitous as it is if the performance is so horrific. An extra second for loading times is a total deal-breaker and no positives of the platform can counterbalance that.
