Afrihost discontinuing bronze hosting accounts.

Either cancel or get upgraded to a R30 account.

Complete overkill for what is essentially a mail forwarder.

Finally gonna be killing my last afrihost tie.

Pretty much the same boat here.
Consider using their Bronze Email package ...

It's been a pretty tough decision to make, under less than ideal circumstances, but had to be made.
Gian covers everything on why we had to move forward with the decision.

If you're just using the account for mail only, maybe look at downgrading to an email only hosting package though?

it's not even email hosting - just forwarding. What options do you have for me?

But it seems bronze email will do what I want?

I have a domain registered through you guys, and I basically want any email hitting that domain forwarded to a gmail account.

Will this work?

It's okay, we still love you guys.

My R56pm for 1x Silver Home hosting, 2x bronze emails and 1x domain pointing is pretty good if you ask me.

Yes.
It basically holds the same functionality, but doesn't have an option to host web content. The email setups are exactly the same.

I am very disappointed in this decision by Afrihost. Not only have they cancelled the Bronze hosting package but they have increased the price of the Silver. I would have happily moved all my packages to the old priced silver (R19) but now Axxess (Casual XS) is the same price as the new Silver (R29) and offers more (Double storage space 2GB, More email accounts and 5 Databases).

Afrihost, I am disappointed and in my books you have gone from hero to zero.

Unfortunately businesses are not charities, their ultimate goal is to make money, that's what keeps them going. If something does not make financial sense for a business then it needs to go.
 
@AfriGuy. If all I'm using you for at the moment is DNS to point at an MX at another provider can I migrate to your Domain Pointer service?
 
Are there any instructions on how to configure Afrihost domain pointing to redirect to another URL?
