Afrihost "Do not refund policy" Scam or not?

At the moment there is a pre order for an Openserve/Afrihost fibre package.

Firstly the timeline is a Vodacom fibre thing. This is just how long they take to resolve one issue. When I first got the line in 2019 it took 3 months after the install to get the line to work and then another 3 months to refund the money they charged me. I was forced to pay for my ADSL and Vodacom fibre line otherwise they would cut of my Vodacom cellphone which they did and I had to pay the 3 month bill in one payment although the service was active but not used since I had no access to the line and no login was given therefor I could not use it. After 3 months I received a login and password from Vodacom.

This has been the most unstable network I have ever been on.

Regarding this issue, we are still not sure. I have asked the technician that was assigned to come and explain. He will come around when he has a gap.

He did say the there was a technical issue and that the line is unstable and therefor cannot be upgraded. The line was dropping a couple of times a day. Causing havoc with my cloud based systems. We have had this issue for the last 8 months and Vodacom has blamed it on loadshedding issues along the Vodacom network, but that was not the issue here most of the time.

If I was Afrihost I would not sell fibre on the Vodacom fibre network since it is impossible to work with them and it is making them look bad.

I will update when I hear from the technician.

Sorry for the issues experienced. I have been following up with Vodacom. Please also keep in touch with me via pm so I can assist wherever I can. There has been a couple of upgrades and downgrades requested.

With Vodacom these are done manually by submitting a ticket to Vodacom. Unfortunately the portal doesn't allow us to do regrades so these take time and if confirmed by vodacom as being done we accept that as confirmation unless the client advises us otherwise. If you experience any speed issues please report to us immediately so we attend to these issues.

Can I please get a non-CG-nat public IP?

After weeks of troubleshooting I found out that Afrihost is screwing me with a CG-natted IP

Why? Why is Afrihost sooo difficult to work with???

The
Vodacom upgrade is not going to happen. Best we seek alternative connections
Hi
I am having the same issue unfortunately i did not know that vodacom was the only line provider when i moved into the complex whereas before i had vumatel which i was very happy with. I found out that vumatel was not interested in laying fibre lines in the complex so i am stuck with vodacom lines. Even if i want to change service providers which i don't want to as i am generally happy with Afrihost as i always had good service with them.
It's just a pity a person has to resort to such extreme measures posting to forums to get attention to sort a problem out since the 3rd of September as i am also getting billed for the higher speed.
