Afrihost down the drain?

Not just you, my international is basically useless at the moment, has been for the past 2 days or so. They do have a poor network performance notice on their website at the moment saying

"Our network team and management are aware that some of our clients have been experiencing poor internet performance over our ADSL services. Due to high demand for bandwidth on our network, affected clients may be experiencing slow speeds and high latency, particularly during periods when demand is very high"

Streaming video, for example, is impossible for me currently. Quite frustrating.

Many of us, there are related threads, just search.

It's been a while since Afrihost was this terrible for me. Things better clear up soon or my family will go berserk if I don't change ISP.

+1

I couldn't watch the last Top Gear episode this evening because of their **** international bandwidth at the moment

DSTV didn't even air it

Can we just wait until Monday for AH to respond before we get our pitchforks out?

This has been brewing for the last two weeks, not just this weekend. Go read the dedicated threads in the support forums.

I have given them a week already. We had to fight to get that stupid status page of theirs to stop showing "ALL GOOD"

I have never seen such a **** ISP in my life, wow literally can't game, browse or stream, lol. 56k dial up actually would load things.

They are busy with a network upgrade. Working in IT I can tell you that RARELY happens without some hiccups. I am sure Afriman will bring us in the loop.

Now are those hiccups due to bad foresight, or just the unforseen technical problems? If its the latter then it's understandable

Afrihost's network is in a never ending, perpetual upgrade, and it seems to be rarely working lately, the hiccups here are actually when their network works! For a change.

/meh

Live streams on youtube are impossible - buffers continously.!!!! Clowns!

I am about to signup for the mobile option with AH I am guessing as this piggybacks on MTN I won't have the same issues you guys are referring to ?
