Heya jamacouve. Apologies for the late reply here. Not sure how this post went under my radar. :( Did you manage to get your device delivered? How is the overall speed and performance of the connection performing?

Still awaiting the device

Been a really terrible experience unfortunately

Oh no! :( Please PM me your account info and I'll look into progress here.

Hey dude, got it. Working great comapred to my ADSL thank you!

Quick question. If I run out of data is it possible to top up ?

I see an option on Client Zone to top up ADSL, but not LTE ?

You should be able to top up RAIN product in ClientZone now :)

Hi there, tell me is it possible to use a different sim in the router and if so what setting will need to be changed? And when i revert back to the rain sim what setting do I need, I'm sure there's an APN setting.

In short the LTE devices we offer do allow you to use different sim cards as the devices are not locked.

However, when it comes to APN's it really depends on the sim card you use. Normal carriers like Vodacome and MTN and so forth automatically add there own APN settings are far as I know when you place the simcard in the device. I also know that RAIN sim cards do not need to be pointed to any APN like Afrihost sim cards do. :)

On 30/11 @ 3.59pm I sent the following email to support:
I have been trying to get through to you guys for two days now, without success. I got excited just now because after holding on for quite a while was eventually informed that I was caller number 2 and then suddenly I became caller number 35!!
Anyway I am trying to get the Rain LTE-A deal that you are currently offering.- Free Hardware and double data. I have consistently been told that Rain is not yet operating in my area – Gordons Bay but have just had a technician here doing a site test on behalf of DSL Telecoms who are offering me a similar Rain-Lte package to yours but with VOX as the ISP.
I just don’t want to have all the hassles of transferring my account as I have been with Afrihost for many years so want to take up your offer.
Please let me know what the next step would be.
Thank you,

I never received a ticket and I then sent the following email @ 9.27pm :It seems that Afrihost is overwhelmed with support requests as I am not getting any response to my query! I want to sign up for your Rain LTE-A fixed wireless Double Data Free hardware offer @ R549 per Month. Kindly activate this service for me and debit my Credit Card account that I have with you.
Kindly confirm.
Thank You,

I did get a ticket number: Ticket ID: FZS-635-68035Fw: LTE-A for this.
This morning I got this gem back from support.:
Hi Roy

1.Please note that the promotion for double data has ended on the 30/11/2017, you can still receive the free device or the B618 for R999.
2.Please note that if you checked coverage and it stated that you are not covered and purchase the product only to realize that it does not work you might be charged for the termination.
3.I do understand that Vox came out to test it however i would still have to relay the disclaimer.

Please try using a different web browser with the below link:
https://www.afrihost.com/landing/rain_fixed_wireless/#fixed-wireless-packages

You can still sign up for the R299, 25GB only and receive a free router or sign up for the sim only and receive data for free for 3 months.

Kindly advise for any further assistance.

My reply: Hi,
Your sign up page was not working on 30/11 nor was I able to telephonically access support. My email of 30/11 confirming that I wanted the deal surely qualifies me for it and by the way I requested the 55+55 deal.
I would like this escalated to a supervisor to carefully read through my emails and then for someone to phone me back on 072xxxxxx.
Thank you.

I really hope that Afrihost are not falling back into their old ways of bad support and not attending to their customers requirements.
I hope that maybe one of the Afripeople can look into this for me and get it sorted!

Received my modem and sim this afternoon. Still waiting for activation, can any Afrihost rep help to speed up the process?

Thanks

:( I am really sorry to hear about the experience that you've had. As much as I want to provide you with a Double Data Fixed Wireless package there is no way for us to activate it from our side for packages signed-up after the 30th of November. This was a decision that was made by the upstream provider.
