I prefer the scenic route down the rabbit hole.
I have just moved over from a MWeb so called 'premium' uncapped account to afrihost capped.

In a nutshell I am stoked beyond belief.

Afrihost's service is spot on. Might be nice if you could get to a support person quicker, but it's a small thing. The clientzone on their webpage is amazingly user friendly. Subscribing to services has been a pleasure. Also I now have a 100GB cap which is more than enough for my needs that is unshaped, unthrottled and as blazingly fast as my line which I am now letting them manage can be. I have never streamed HD video like this. It is amazing. My ping in games have remained the same so no problem there. Everything is so quick!

So my recommendation as a long-time supporter for uncapped products: If you do not see the need to replicate the internet on your own hard drives by downloading everything then go for an Afrihost capped bundle.

Mind you... If there are serious hangups along the way I will complain lol

Made a move from mweb to afrihost 2 months ago, am still amazed at the speeds they provide on a standard uncapped package! I have yet to experience any shaping!

I have to agree with this. On Business Uncapped with Afrihost and everything just works. Customer service, network quality and billing is just A+.

I can't agree more. Afrihost's uncapped is first class; you can't even compare it to Mweb.

I am really loving it :D

1 Year ago Mweb had a better Network.

Now the tables have turned.

Mweb has a sub B Network, zero customer service.

Afrihost gets A++ for everything. I am super happy with Afrihost, and if things stay the way they are, I will be a Afrihost client for life.

+1 for the AfriTeam...

I have been a happy camper with AfriHost for a while now. I tried their uncapped service, but it wasn't for me. I went back to capped and have a 25Gb cap now. It's enough for the time being. Service seems to be getting better all the time and I like their innovation.

FTW.

25GB? Don't you do any video streaming?

Always was a (mostly) happy bunny with Afrihost. And the few times I wasn't it always boiled down to some Telkom fukup. Have always been on capped but when they started the uncapped offensive switched over immediately. Haven't noticed much of a loss in speed neither. Will see how things develop once Telkom bumps me up to 10, 20 or 40 MB or anything closer to real world internet speeds.

Can only recommend Afrihost wholeheartedly.

Totally agree, best ISP out there at the moment. I hope they don't pull an Mweb and **** it up

Great thread, and a really awesome post! Glad to hear you're getting a great experience with us. Welcome :)

Shout if you ever have any problems - I'm always just a PM away :)

You obviously haven't tried contacting them via Twitter

LOL, our tweeps are very quick on the the draw :)

But our aim is to have the best support / service experience ever. We're always improving our internal systems and hiring new people to make sure we can always be available to our clients - no matter how they choose to contact us :)

Tweet them! Get helped within minutes. Also bypasses the arm and a leg it costs to call them. Are they on Neotel phone lines?

We use VoIP lines, so we unfortunately can't introduce toll free or share call rates at present. Tweet, Facebook or Google+ us, SMS "help" to 32541, email us on [email protected] or submit a request from Clientzone - and we'll get hold of you :)

+1000 to all positive comments. I left AH last year when the MTN "fiasco" started and sigh, signed up with the devil(M-Web). I was one of the first people that posted here about the M-Web letter.

I subsequently moved back to AH and all I can say is wow.

Here for month's Mweb has been blaming Telkom and the Exchange I connect to, or Mweb say my Modem is faulty.

I switched my Static IP service from Mweb to Afrihost, and what a difference, it works like it should.

Afrihost is the way forward. Mweb no longer free the web, they restrict the web......
