Afrihost gaming speed test

Thank you afrihost for the low ping on Call of Duty 4

oh please, what you want is a ping that never goes over 100ms... ideal is about 50/60ms... any lower and you won't notice it because there's no lag...

When I lan with my mates, and we use the piece of hot dog-shyte hub, we play with 50-70ms ping (I don't know why the hud does it, but it has 8 ports, so we don't care), and we get no lag... literally, you won't notice the difference between 60ms and 10ms... maybe the odd jutter will stop, but that's hardly noticeable.

Why would this be any different to any other IS account? :confused:

On local servers there is no difference at all!
How ever international you should check what account you have.

Those sold by afrihost is fiber cable access.
You also get the satelite access. There a simple way to identify what account you have.

196.210.xxx.xxx = Fiber account.
196.209.xxx.xxx = Satelite account.

Only international goes via Satelite or Fiber depending on your account. All local go via Telkom line. In most cases Fiber but there might be some copper.

196.210.xxx.xx = Fiber account [local and international bandwidth served by fiber] [Semi Shaped account. However you will see MAX speed on p2p and other non essential applications]
196.209.xxx.xxx = Satelite account [International bandwidth served by satelite but local bandwidth served by fiber] [Its a shaped account is really badly shaped during peak times. p2p is basicly a crawl]

Lol dude you playing with 50-70ms ping and you cant notice a difference?? hahaha. There is a MASSIVE difference between 1ms LAN to 60ms Online trust me. How you are managing to get 70ping on lan is beyond me but there is a very noticable difference I promise you that.
