Afrihost hidden costs & lousy support

Necronus your still blithering on about semantics.

Your lack of experience in a real court of law is showing. The spirit of the law is more important than the wording.

Answer these questions;

1. How does registering a domain for email differ from registering a domain for web, are they any different, is the cost to register any different ?

2. If the industry standard is not to charge for the coza as it is only parked on the dot com, should not Afrihost have made this clear ?

3. What sort of expert are you, to make such judgements when you haven't even seen any of the 31 emails ?

still waiting for
it was asasa and ispa btw not icasa. still waiting for

a) your asasa case number.
b) did you ask them for .co.za and .com domain.

i bet you have asked them for a .co.za and a .com registration and assumed that you will get .co.za for free just because it was "listed" as free, but in actual fact it's a domain email package...

After seeing this I decided to register both a dot com and the dot coza, I figured the dot coza would be free.

They charged me R300 to regsiter the coza and now claim no matter what I must pay the R35 per month for the coza to direct to the dot com.

when you have learnt to read everything properly you will find the answers to your questions as they are clearly written out on their website and in the free gift as what it is exactly.

...however you have clearly ****ed yourself by assuming what is not.
Here's a screen shot of their offer;

please take note that this will be the last reply as you are a lost case.

You haven't answered my questions ?

If it costs the same to register a coza domain for email as for web, why would you think that there would be a different charge.

Imagine buying a motor car, and the garage advertises free registration, when you turn up to pick it up, they tell you that the registration was only to drive on farm roads and not tar, and you must pay for the registration.

Like I said you may be an expert on semantics, but your a fool when it comes to the law.

Offering to register a domain for free, is not the same as hosting the domain.

It does not cost any more to register a domain for email as it does for web.

They billed my CC R300 for registering the domain, they have already admitted this was their error, so those arguing about how right Afrihost are, maybe should wonder why their service manager has already admitted they were at fault in this matter.

Idiots.

Ok, so they admitted they were in error and they will be refunding you correct?

How is that a hidden cost and lousy support then?

I had a similar experience with my free afrihost gift. I was under the impression that I was allowed to register a domain for free. However, it was only for an email domain. I might have read it wrong though.

Are you really up for all the abuse, this lot are now going to throw at you;)
