Just got back from holiday, cant connect to Afrihost. Called tech supp, got told authentication problem and they are working on it. No ETA to resolve.
Is this service worth paying for!!!

yeah for sure, hence why I never blew up, thing is , where to go - service sux all over

I'm having this problem tonight. Is it still happening with others? If its becoming an fairly big issue why have they not let there clients know?

Nobody knows the sorrows I have seen,.........

Still dead here, back on telkom for the time being.

Received mail stating they had a problem with authentication server this morning but now resolved.

Still can't maintain a connection, have reset and restarted router several times, no problems with other ISP's- e-mailed again.

Website states 'fully operational' pfffffffft

For those experiencing problems - copy of e-mail just received:

Hi *********
Thanks for your mail.:)

Kindly note that we are still experiencing a problem on our radius server and our server admin are busy trying to resolve the problem. Please can you allow until the end of day for the problem to be completely resolved. Unfortunately you will have intermittent connectivity until then.

Thank you and take care.
Have a great day & please feel free to let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Warm regards

Issue is not the problem itself, that's understandable and accepted that things will hiccup from time to time.

Issue is:

  • website states network fully functional - and it's not
  • 1st e-mail stated the problem was resolved when it wasn't

Simple solution - inform clients when there is a problem.

Gary, battling this issue with Afrihost since yesterday - see the other thread on gaming/packet losses....I've brought the 2 threads on this issue to Afrihosts attention.

E-mail from Afrihost:

Hi ******

Thanks for the getting back to us

I do apologize for the delay and inconveniences caused. We have picked up a possible problem with intermittent international connectivity which has been escalated to our upstream providers who are investigating.

Kindly allow a bit more time as the matter is being attended to.

Well the scary thing about Afrihost is that I brought the fact that this is issue is discussed on the forum to their attention yesterday as well, that said, they still have not sent out any notification that there is a problem.
Understandably there can be network problems, its how you deal with them.
But I guess this is just the ***** service we can expect in SA , we get screwed over everywhere with ***** service.
