Afrihost issues randparkridge

Any one have issues on afrihost in the randpark ridge area? Cant connect and the connection light on router is red. Have tried the usual reboot and reset if settings. And as usual cant get hold if support as no telephone support on sundays...
 
I get this on occasion with my Telkom ISP ADSL. Red light also shows on router. I usually need to reboot the router, and if that still doesn't work then I brace myself for the ritual of phoning Telkom to get them to perform a port reset. But you are with Afrihost ISP .. can't they help you?
 
Well afrihost has no telephone support on a sunday. And even if they had you never get through. I have to wait till someone of afri responds to the email or twitter msg...:(

I'm also on Afrihost, we are on honeydew, but as far as I know Randpark Ridge and Honeydew both link to Telkom's Bromhof exchange. Our Internet disconnected a while ago, switched isp's and both down, so looks like a Telkom issue. Looks like there may be a problem with Bromhof Telkom exchange, have seen reports of other people's adsl being down in Honeydew since yesterday. On 3g at the moment, which is also with Afrihost (MTN) and its working fine.

Have also had exceptionally slow Internet since yesterday.

I have reported a fault on line, it may be an idea to report a fault with telkom on line. Hopefully the more people that report it, the faster it will get fixed :p well we can hope!

Well still no connection or help from afrihost... Just keep telling me to check my router or my username etc....
 
Yeah I got reply saying issue with Telkom exchange and they waiting for response as to when a tech is going to go and fix.

Fing pain, I can browse but online gaming with pings over 600ms sux ass...
 
Anyone else still having issues in Randpark Ridge?

I must say, Afrihost level of service in keeping me up to date with what is wrong is shocking!! And the fact that I had to call Telkom to see what is wrong and them telling me Afrihost only logged the issue only a couple of minutes after me after I had told Afrihost almost two weeks ago (or around there) that I had issues is "great service"

Left one ISP for shocking ADSL support to another it looks..... :confused:
 
I had the same problem with AH in December during my trial period with them as my modem would just not connect to them but connected to Mweb no problem.
It turned out to be their DNS's
Change the 196.7.7.7 to read 8.8.8.8 and the 196.7.8.9 to read 8.8.4.4
See how that goes.

Sorry to pick up on this thread so late? It's very, very unlikely that we would have localised problems in a specific area since we have once breakout point in the entire region (which is our North IPC). A problem on the IPC would be experienced by all clients in that region.

Are you still having issues?
