I have always had great service from Afrihost. Even after they moved to MTN. Sure, over the years there has been some problems, but usually their support guys sorts it out quick-quick.

In November I started experiencing high latency. Speedtest showed my speed was fine, only my ping was around 220ms. This is far from the sub-20ms I usually got.

So I contacted Afrihost support I was told to send through the speedtest and tracert results. Nothing is fixed. They tell me my exchange is congested. Telkom fault is logged and technician checks everything out and says its ok. It's not. Now this being the end-of-year, I get busy at work and December we leave on holiday. So we get back and I am now dedicated to fixing my internet, as I have not been able to play BF4 for 2 months.

Redid speedtest and tracert. This time I also do it with the Telkom guest account and the free WebAfrica account. On Telkom and WebAfrica my latency is fine (around 30ms), while Afrihost keeps getting 220ms+. All Afrihost support keeps telling me is that they have reset and stabilised my line and I should reset my router. THIS IS NOT WORKING!
Tonight again they start blaming Telkom, even after I show them the newest speedtest and tracert results done on the WebAfrica account.

I am now on the verge of leaving Afrihost after almost 5 years with them. I am really over this pathetic service.

Your story is exactly the same as mine, after giving Afrihost a 3rd and 4th chance, I eventually just moved to WebAfrica. Yes they are a bit more expensive but everything just works! No more stressing about buffering streams or having to phone support 23000 times a week!

This is terrible, can totally feel your frustration here. It would really depend on the results our team were working with, but the main information is the client's experience. This should guide us, in conjunction with tests, to finding the problem and a suitable solution.

I would really need to see those results to be able to help you further with this, which I would really like to do ASAP.

Could you please drop me a PM?
