Submitted a request to migrate my line, and it has been an absolute nightmare.

1. 25th October - Line transfer application submitted to Afrihost

2. 31st October - Line transfer request submitted to Telkom to move line into the holding pool

3. 01 December - Line has not been moved to holding pool.

4. 01 December - Contact Telkom, who says that they are inundated with requests and I should ask Afrihost to submit a request to transfer it for me.

5. 02 December - Afrihost confirms that they have submitted the request, but require Telkom to process it, and request that I contact Telkom again.

6. 07th December - Telkom finally puts the line in the holding pool.

7. 07th December - Afrihost confirms they have successfully migrated the line.

8. 08th December - I get this message from Afrihost:

"Telkom has notified us there is a problem with you ADSL
line order migration we submitted on your behalf.

Please would you read the email below a send us the
necessary info so that we can complete the process.

This is the exact message Telkom sent to us about your order:

Unfeasible, due to a pending order on the lin

This is what it means:
Your ADSL line is not yet active - Telkom confirms you have ordered a ADSL line with them and that the order is currently pending.

As soon as your ADSL line is active then we will be able to complete the process of migrating it to Afrihost.

Please let us know once Telkom have completed your ADSL line activation and we will process the migration to Afrihost."

In Gians email, he says that all the client has to do is apply online and they will do the rest. It is in fact a blatant lie as the client has to fill in paperwork to get Telkom to move the line. Honestly wish I never bothered migrating.

Also got that email and filled in the paperwork, now I get sms's telling me to contact Telkom and ask for line transfer.

Exactly. If I had known that, I would not have bothered. Trying to find the email as proof, but looks like I deleted it.

If you pay us, instead of Telkom, for your DSL line rental two good things will happen:

- You'll save some money every month
- And we'll deal directly with Telkom for you.

Click here to save money and have us manage your Telkom line for you

For Example:

If you have a 10Mbps Premium Uncapped account with Afrihost but your DSL line is still managed by Telkom:

You’re paying Telkom R425 every month.
You’re paying Afrihost R797 every month.

That means you’re paying R1,222 every month for your internet.

If you moved your ADSL line to Afrihost and bundle your line with your data, you would pay Afrihost R897 every month.

You would SAVE R325 every month, or R3,900 every year!

And then there's the time you would save Future Nolan:

If there's a problem with the Internet on your DSL line simply let us know and we'll contact Telkom on your behalf to get the problem fixed - You don't need to contact them.

So invest some time right now and save Future Nolan some money, hassle and time.

-> Click here to have us manage your Telkom line

So what do you have to do now to make Future Nolan happy?

It’s easy:

Step ONE:

Click here and sign up on our website

Step TWO:

We send you a single page Telkom form for you to fill in.

Step THREE:

Take a photo of the form (or scan it) and email it through to Telkom and us.

And don't worry, once you have signed up on our website we will tell you exactly what you need to do to transfer your Telkom line to us to manage for you.

We take care of everything from that point onwards.

email

So then it's partly my fault actually. The email states that they will tell me what to do, not that they will handle it for me. I was under the impression I would just fill in the form and all will be sorted.

Well I contacted Telkom and confirmed line to be transferred to holding pool, they'll sms when I can contact afrihost, hoping all goes smoothly.

My biggest concern is this.

No DSL Line Installations between 16 Dec '16 - 06 Jan '17
Please note that no DSL Line Installations will be done by Telkom during the Holiday Season.
DSL Line orders done during this period will only be processed starting from 09 January 2017.
