I have the 5Gb APN special on my MTN contract. When I'm in a LTE zone my data stops working completely. If I switch off LTE it starts working again on 3G.
If I change my APN back to MTN and switch on LTE it works fine. The problem seems to be on Afrihost side.

How do I get this fixed?

I have opened a ticket for this.

There is no option to create a ticket for mobile data so I had to log it under capped ADSL.

This is the response I received from support.

"Hi there,

Apologies for the frustrations.

Our APN is not yet LTE ready, but it should be soon. As such you will not be able to connect to an LTE network until we have set it up on our APN.

Please accept our sincere apologies for this.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to assist you.

If this is the case then when is Afrihost APN going to be LTE ready?
All info that we previously received said the Afrihost is LTE ready.

I'm sincerely sorry about the mis-communication here. I'll follow up with the team to ensure the right info if conveyed :)
Our APN is definitely LTE ready, you require an LTE device and enabled SIM with MTN.

My MTN sim is LTE enabled and it works perfectly when on the MTN APN. On the Afrihost APN it doesn't.

I'm busy chatting to AfriMan - I believe he's sorting things with you via PM?
Apologies again about the mis-communication, our guys are working like champions. Very possibly need some more coffee :)

Same issue with me. Got my 5Gb nano sim today, put it in the E3276 and it refuses to connect on LTE. Works on HSPDA+ but that's it.

I was also under the impression on launch date that their network would be LTE compatible.

@Whatwhat have you tried using MDMA and forcing it to make use of LTE.

Mobile Partner forces it to LTE. I can see the MTN LTE connection in the bottom just cannot register on the network. I can get onto the Cell C LTE network fine with their LTE SIM, just being Cell C there is hardly any data throughput.

We probably still need to activate LTE access on that individual number. Drop me a PM with your ClientZone username so I can check it out :)

Our network is definitely LTE ready. We just need to make sure that the device and SIM are LTE capable, and that the SIMs are activated for LTE service on our side.

Thanks for all the help Afriman. My APN LTE is now working.

I have Pm'd Afriman.
He's trying to get it sorted.
