I game with 3g using hspa locker and I get between 60 and 70 ms and lte should be better but it still depends on the tower you connect with.
If the tower isn't congested you should be golden.
The distance to the tower may have an influence too.

For the mobile data 10+10 deal, is second 10 the 'double' in the promotion or is it actually 20+20?

There have been major connectivity issues in the East Rand on the MTN Cellular network, MTN is working hard to ensure that the quality of the signal improves as soon as possible, but until the issue is corrected I cannot give you an exact time when it will be completed.
It seems a tiny but better but hope for a huge improvement soon. Thus far I am happy with the Afrihost/MTN performance keeping the signal strength issue in mind.
I just moved over from your telkom managed adsl to your Mobile network. I then purchased a B593 router and a XPOL-0002 antenna and set it all up. Now the issue is pointing the antenna in the correct direction, i can see multiple towers from my roof but none of them give me the same speed as when i run the internal antennas on the modem?
internal antenna's - 7mbps
external antenna - 4mbps (pointing at the Plessey tower in Tokai)
Can you please tell me what the address/co-ordinates are for the tower i should be using? Obviously the router is finding a better tower, but i've no idea which one it is. ive pointed it in all directions.

If you follow this link: http://www.cellmapper.net/map?MCC=655&MNC=10 you will just need to enter your suburb, the map will then display your nearest cellular towers.
It is not necessarily about locating the nearest tower, but rather the tower that provides the best quality signal to your device.
Thanks Afrigenie but i think you forgot to post the link. If i can pinpoint if there is more than one then i will be able to run them for some time and test which one is best.
Thanks for the quick reply.
Indeed I did... My previous has been Edited to correct this.
Sorry about that!![]()
That's the biggest package we currently have, all the data is doubled![]()
Is there anyone else here in CT, Northern Suburbs that's experiencing excruciatingly slow internet speeds or is it just me?
For the past week web pages take +-30 seconds to load or they timeout. I used to be able to play LoL with ~300ms ping but now there's a lot of packet loss and it's always jumping between 400ms-6000ms ping.
I'm in Durbanville.

^^That's supposed to be "3G"
I'm in JHB on Telkom 3G and speed is shiat. My Vodacom phone is struggling as well. Might be our weather or maybe the power supply. Might be related to your issues.
The biggest package you have...lol choose your words more carefully.
Is it 10+10 to use at any hour of the day?
