That did the trick! I had slow connection again this morning, and when I followed the guide my speedtest shows me back up to 5Mb. I'll be aware of signal dropping, but for instance last night was bad weather and I still had a faster signal than when it was clear skies earlier in the month.

Thanks!

Awesome, glad it worked for you :)

afrihost support is getting bad. I have problem with my mobile three sim since last week. it says used up all data. but I still have more then 6gb. already pm to afrigirl and afriguy but still nothing.

Sorry to hear that you're having a poor experience with our support.

I got your PM and replied. Assuming that the issue is sorted now :)

My connection has started this "https://capped.afrihost.com/" non sense again. Anyone know how to resolve it?

Did you manage to get this sorted out?
If not, drop me a PM and I'll do some digging and have it sorted for you :)

No, still not working
I'll PM you shortly

You can log on the clientzone by clicking on "continue or proceed" and request a service ticket!

I have the same problem a second time, two days in a row!

24 hours and no response to the PM support request for the above. Good thing I have a back up access

Mine is now resolved. Thanks Jabulani!

If you cannot get Afriman or anyone to respond in this thread then when you do get the capped (now ugly yellow) page redirect, select proceed, log into clientzone, select support and create a ticket! Tell them you get to the capped redirect page whilst still having cap available and they must do a session audit and re establish your sessions again. Generally works fine thereafter!

You can always get me to respond :)

If I'm not in the thread, please pop me a PM (cos I get a mail notification) and I'll do my best to assist you as quickly as I can.

The real question is WHY? are we getting that capped redirect and thus bandwidth limitation incorrectly? Will make me cancel the service! ;)

Remember that speed is dependant on signal coverage and also demand. So there are plenty of factors at play.

Also, building structures cause signal to vary a lot. I find that if I place my MiFi in a certain spot in my lounge (which unfortunately in mid-air and not practical, I can get up to 13mbps. Otherwise, I generally get around 3-4Mbps :)

Hi Afriman

I asked about this a few months ago but I'm still experiencing the same problem, and just want to check if you've since gained any more intel.

Basically using Adium my gmail chat gets disconnected and reconnected about 5 seconds later several times a day. It's quite frustrating as I talk to clients, then miss what they typed.

When using my Vodacom sim in the mifi device I have zero problems, have a stable connection the whole day..

Just today:

You have disconnected (10:34:37 AM)
You have connected (10:34:49 AM)
