Lucky you, been feeding the OOB shark for hours here, again at the end on the month . It is so frustrating when the modem just gets kicked and cannot re connect. 4 hours now.

So I had to call the support line twice today.

It is the first of the month and I am getting capped messages.

Wow this sim is working so well on MTN LTE. LTE is really a pleasure to use.

My exchange is congested and when Telkom will fix it I don't know but having the LTE mifi and 2+3GB on LTE is just pure internet joy.... I'm not breaking any speed records cause I'm too far from the tower but what amazes me more is that even though I am like 4km from the tower and trees in the way I am still able to get 7Mbps down and latency in League of legends EUW of just 204ms with no spikes or delay.... :D

Once you go LTE ....

if I cannot access your network for 18 hours then it isn't your OOB shark I have to contend with

I popped my Afrihost sim with the 3 + 4 GB of data into my S2 last night to download a bunch of apps from the play store and it is totally unusable. My cell c sim works perfectly with the play store?!

Hows the MTN Signal :)

The Afrihost MiFi 2 + 3 deal sounds too good to be true .......and unfortunately the old cliché rings true. :(

Mostly the signal is too bad to use and even if in a area where you would expect good signal the performance is extremely variable.

Being mobile, it unfortunately depends on the sort of coverage MTN has in your area, where you having these issues?

The Afrihost deal is great but they will never reach scale unless they introduce a mehod to reactivate an existing device sim or link to a MTN prepaid sim.

Most of the users on this forum are DSL users and we got our free MiFi devices and don't need the data every month so we had to cancel in the first month.
Stupid thing though is that if you are going on holiday and want the mobile data you need get a brand new sim and can't use your existing device sim. You have to wait 5 days for a random delivery froma ****ty delivery company which just isn't practical.

^ Agreed.

I imagine it would work in their favour as well when you consider the savings on courier fees, , packaging, etc

That's why they have the option to pause tje service... no need to get a new sim each time you might need it :)

Murrayfield, Pretoria East.

Vodacom connection from my phone works perfectly and consistently.
I don't think it's the mifi device - just normal rubbish MTN network.
