So you have to get a sim from them? That's prepaid? :confused:

Technically. The data is loaded on the 1st of every month but it is a data only SIM. You can topup if you run out of data before the end of the month.

Anyway around this? I'm trying to set up a tablet for my technically challenged parents before they leave on Monday.

Unfortunately not. You need to get one of our SIMs or have an MTN contract to set up the APN. Our SIMs come preconfigured already, you just need to slot it in.

What happens now with the account we tried to create with the prepaid sim? How do I go about ordering a Afrihost sim for it?

You would have received an error message with the prepaid SIM you tried to sign up. I can check your account if you PM me.
You can order the new SIM via our website. You will have the option to chose the size SIM you need.

I already have a sim in my name, just thought it'd be quicker to go get a prepaid sim than wait for delivery.
 
I ordered a 2+2 sim on Monday, received a confirmation, but then nothing. How long does it take for these things to be delivered ?

Depends on when payment clears. If it's a debit order, you have to allow for up to 5 business days for the payment to reflect in our account. from there, the courier will contact you within 48 hours (or 2 business days) to arrange delivery.
 
They should add those 8 days to their pro-rata calculation !

You still get all the data you paid for since it's a capped solution, but we do adjust if there is a break in the month or it's too close to the end of the month to reasonably use the data.
