Visiting parents and no mtn signal here. Have to deal with mifi and vc sim in. Complaints logged via coverage team but doubt anything will come of it. Hope one day will have decent signal in the sticks.....

I guess if the area is way out of the coverage area, just adding an antenna is not going to do much, they'll have to extend coverage with new towers - can't imagine towers come cheap :(

We chatted in pm's about it. Attennas might solve it. Busy looking into it.

If it can, I think MTN install the antennas at their cost if you go via their coverage process. Otherwise I think they're between R8,000 and R10,000.

Will look into it, thanks. We did go that route and a couple of other people here as well, but we only got ref # and it went dead from there.

I know they probably get a lot of queries. But if you get a reference then I can try and get it escalated for you within MTN.

I'm now paying for three Moblie Two accounts, and a capped account - when do I get shares?

Starting to wonder if these Afrihost Mobile deals are worth it.

I pay R149 per month for a couple of old 3GB Vodacom contracts, but at least Vodacom works.

My MTN reception on these AH deals have been really poor, wherever I go. In fact, Cell C is much better.

I guess coverage is always going to differ from network to network. However, I have experienced excellent coverage at my house and office, as well as out and about in Gauteng, so I do believe that generally MTN has a great network. I get excellent LTE coverage, which is also a bonus.

What kind of solution are you referencing here, AfriMan?

On that note, I've found that LTE propagates much further than 3G. I've found this on my phone as well as a B593 router.

Jola, try LTE if you haven't yet. While MTN 3G might seem "iffy", you may be pleasantly surprised with MTN LTE.

Haven't picked up any MTN LTE yet, do they even have it ?

These LTE modems and routers were a waste, there is very little of that around.

Got some nice TM LTE in Umhlanga, but TM LTE is only 10% at my house. And no other LTE. Used to have Vodacom, but that always had poor performance and is gone now.

Just keep in mind that telkom uses 2300mhz for the lte, so if the modem you have is from telkom, chances is very good that it wouldnt work on anther provider. They the only ones that uses an odd frequency. Vc en mtn uses the same as far as i know.

In all my tests to date, MTN LTE has the widest coverage. What device did you use to test?

There is a coverage questionnaire on their website. You can complete it and their team investigates and offers a solution.

I have 5 LTE devices, E392, E398, E3276 (two, one 8ta and one Cell C), and an E589 LTE mifi.

As far as I am concerned only 8ta has decent LTE (and then only in some places), the others are all useless.

I have a range of LTE devices that covers all of the providers.

Battery meter issues

Apologies if this has already been discussed (I didn't fancy reading 174 pages of comments), but is it still expected that the battery jumps from about 60% straight to about 20% (as shown here)? There was some discussion of this a while ago in another thread and an OTA fix was promised, but I'm running the latest update and still experiencing this.

(I also posted this here before I discovered this thread)
