Yeah, no. I've got a crowd coming to check for LOS on the 1st that do a cheaper wireless uncapped connection. There's a lot of trees though, so I'm not too hopeful

Trees are less of an issue than buildings and mountains etc. But yeah, always good to know what sort of coverage you're in for before you make a decision.

I cant find anything where I did get a reference number but I did get a "confirmation" email from [email protected]. It just repeated the question that I had asked in the form. That email was received on the 09/12/2013 but to-date, no response.

They must email you a unique reference for your query. Without that I can't escalate the issue (they probably receive quite a lot).

Maybe try submitting one more time and make sure you get that unique reference number.

Anyone using Android Huawei app for the MiFi has been draining my phone battery at an alarming rate, seems to be a big problem with it.

Can I still edit a package to a higher gb-value and retain the extra gbs? eg mobile 2+2 to 3+3?

If you have double data and you change package you'll keep the double data promo for the new package :)

So just to clarify, i can click on edit package, select mobile three, an then ill have a 6 gb packet. 3+3. And this is possible until friday?

Yes, for the moment we will allow you to keep double data even when you change package. Same rules apply though, guaranteed only until the end of the year :)

Thanks.. Changed. But usually it would give the pro-rata part as pro-rata of 3Gb and pro-rata of 3gbextra
But now it only shows one bar. If I PM you would you be able to confirm that I retained the double data allocation?

At that kind of usage you would need to check what your budget can handle. You're going to run into the thousands whatever option you choose.

Is there no way to get DSL at all? Even 1 or 2Mbps?

Telkom has "issues" in that neighbourhood, which basically means lines get stolen faster than they can replace them. They won't put in a line for me.

Why am I getting a capped message with over half my bundle left? And what is the solution!?

Do any afrrihost products work properly?

Uh oh, looks like you've been AfriCapped!

Try turning off your device or disconnecting from the network for 15 minutes then connect again. Read a book or something while you wait for the service you paid for to start working again.

Anyway, here's the official response -

I thought a general reply would be easiest here, I know we hit quite a few "Capped" pages with clients yesterday, which caused some frustration. We're truly sorry about this and I promise we are investigating this urgently.

We've also implemented some fixed so that if you hit the capped page, we should flag your account if we know you have data. I would say reboot your device 10-15 minutes later and it might resolve once our internal commands take effect.

We're still going to continue investigating further until we can minimise or eliminate this completely :(

They are working on it.

Tried multiple times and still capped. Device was off for over 3 hours. Had too rely on my damn phone for emails.

Its complete BS that you have a product with an issue like this for so long, and so far, it looks like nothing has been done about it.

I'm assuming the so called flag is only attended to in office hours.

Same experience here. Been without a working connection for hours. No change.

I got my old Cell C sim cards out. Will load some airtime later today to check coverage. They still have compelling prepaid deals.
