Afrihost Mobile Feedback Thread

Just want to confirm, I got a MTN sim from Afrihost a few months ago for mobile data, does this sim and the Afrihost package support LTE?
Will be no use to buy a LTE modem if the network doesn't support it, so far I only used the sim in a 3G capable device.

BTW any opinions on the Huawei E5573 mobile Wifi LTE modem?

If the SIM is LTE enabled, your area is LTE covered and the device you're using is LTE compatible, you're good to go :)

Why are my auto-limits disabled AGAIN!

Please for the love of god, I actually want to give you more money when my airtime is low... Just tried to reset it, has NEVER worked since I joined, and get this:

Received an email ad yesterday from Afrihost offering a 1Gb mobile package for a low price. Yet on the website, the package is priced much higher

Also, on a mobile phone, how do you get data from Afrihost added to your account? Maybe I am being a bit dim, but I cannot see how it is done

Hey Chris, that's super weird. As far as I know we're not promoting any 1GB promotions at the moment. Can you forward that mail to me on [email protected]? :(
 
I need to do that whole *141*774*1# to give consent thing but I don't have a phone the sim card will fit in. Is there any way of doing it via the afrihost mifi I'm using the SIM in or do I have to go buy a cheap phone?
 
This 250mb for R1 thing could be a bit more clear.
Is it available as an addon to current subscribers or only for new subscriptions / sims?

Depends on the device you have, some should have a USSD option me thinks.
 
Ported my old and cherished 082 number to MTN and added EVERGREEN pre-paid Voice and Mobile Data!

Just over a week ago, MTN choose to shut of my SIM and a week later only one "fob off" reply from Afrihost support!

There is NO indication that the number will be cut off due to inactivity on your website (all be it in my case, less than 90 days!!) this is quite frankly unacceptable! MTN are keen enough to SMS you when there is a promotion on double data when a squirrel farts at 4am in the morning but completely unable to warn customers that they are about to cut off their number due to (no idea) whatever reason!!!

Totally disgusted!
