You are set to interleave, which means that your line is unstable. Assia will thus try to stabilise things for you. So somewhere there a fault on your line, meaning that they would have to possibly get a technician in

I dont think just because its on interleaved mode it will run poorly nor would it indicate a problem, stats are good so that rules out the line for now.

Im on Interleaved mode yet my connection always hits its target speed.

Perhaps, but my stats are also good except for my speed which is bad during the evenings. If he is latency is that high, then somewhere something is amiss.

Maybe a router issue? Noise on line?

I have telkom test my line today
And trace are perfect at telkom and shocking at Afrihost this is every evening

Test Afrihost

I test at lunchtime and Afrihost trace was ok

Thanks for the info.

So far no support from Afrihost in this regard. Only being informed my line drops a lot.

Speed is just getting slower all the time.

It seems English is not always understood by Afrihost. See support msg's sent to Afrihost and then the last msg received.

Once again the old problem is back again.

I am getting a msg that the smtp.afrihost.co.za server is not available. Please refer to the e-mail I will be sending in 5min.

The issue has been resolved but my network is constantly disconnecting.

Friday 01-07-2016 @ 15h49 I get this msg from Afrihost:
You're in good hands with Donovan.
I'm confident that once your connection issues are resolved, your SMTP problems will be too.

I wonder what was understood when I reported on Wed 29-06-2016 that my smtp.afrihost.co.za server problem reported earlier was resolved.

Some info:

Noise Margin (AKA Signal to Noise Margin or Signal to Noise Ratio)
Relative strength of the DSL signal to Noise ratio. The higher the number the better for this measurement. In some instances interleaving can help raise the noise margin to an acceptable level.

6dB or below is bad and will experience no synch or intermittent synch problems
7dB-10dB is fair but does not leave much room for variances in conditions
11dB-20dB is good with little or no synch problems* (but see note below)
20dB-28dB is excellent
29dB or above is outstanding

Line Attenuation
Measure of how much the signal has degraded between the DSLAM and the modem. This is largely a function of the distance from the exchange. The lower the dB the better for this measurement.

20dB and below is outstanding
20dB-30dB is excellent
30dB-40dB is very good
40dB-50dB is good
50dB-60dB is poor and may experience connectivity issues
60dB or above is bad and will experience connectivity issues

Mine is far worse, and look at the speed I'm getting on my 10Mbps line. My distance from the Exchange is bout 3.4km.

Oh and btw. I'm with VOX :) after having hassles like yours for months on end at Afrihost.

If I understand the text in bold properly, those stats disappear when you use another ISP? Try again, an ISP makes no difference.

Those line stats look good.

Next step is to test with another ISP on a different backbone, Crystal Web and Gridhost come to mind have test accounts, but when you test, test for a few hours as line problems sometimes goes away when you do a "port reset" (by changing ISP's or leaving modem off for 15 mins).
