Afrihost New Network Feedback

Trying to download iOS 9.1 update @ 125KiB/s on a 10mbps line... It occasionally spikes up to about 500KiB/s but immediately drops. Even my iTunes download did the same thing yesterday.

Is Afrihost by any chance throttling Apple services so that the network doesn't flop again?

Nope, no throttling of any kind is happening. Do you have any other international downloads that you can run to compare speeds?
 
I am also finding different results for AfriGreen than the New Afrihost network - even though AfriGenie says it's now the exact same network

here are some comparitive speedtest results on my 8 Mbps DSL line synching at 5 703 kbps in Cape Town:

really! are we going to start from scratch again as it is obvious the problem is never with your network
 
Was downloading Devilian beta today using trion's glyph downloader, it was going at 180KB/s about late morning on Afrihost then when I switched over to Axxess it went to 1.7MB/s

This is an old post but I'll confirm that it's not being throttled. I'm on 4mbit Uncapped Home and the 235MB update shows 9 minutes until it's done which is ~400KB/s.

Mine is 1.55GiB going @ 97~330KiB/s... And my line is double your speed.

When you get a chance, can you please switch back to your @afrihost.co.za account and let me know if there is any change.
 
PSN updates seem to be crawling as well. Game update for GTA downloading at 2 mbps. Before the download eventually started I was getting DNS errors. Are PSN downloads throttled by any chance?

iOS 9 download now going about 270-500KiB/s with an occasional fluctuation down to 150KiB/s. It is getting its data from an Mweb server 197.80.130.9 for some reason.
 
Noticed periodically through the day that images on twitter and Facebook not loading.

Traceroutes all seem fine too.
