Can fully understand that.
From the results you posted last night, latency seems a bit all over the place.

I'd be interested in taking a look at a ping to bras.afrihost.com

It was - VERY unstable. I will do the ping as soon as I get home and post results.

Heya Lara

Results don't look too bad here. Did you see the throughput to YT itself fluctuate at all?
Yes, I looked at stats for nerds while the videos were playing. Some videos played at 8300KB and others at 1000KB.
Maybe this is related but I also received a DNS error when I clicked on video links. I had to disconnect and reconnect the DSL session to continue browsing.

Did you try refreshing the video? Seen some weirdness before on some videos where it was pulling from the wrong cache on the first attempt.

I'll give this a try, thanks.

Edit:

With optimisation on:

With optimisation off:

So that isn't right at all. Optimisation seems borked. I did wait more than 15 minutes after turning optimisation on/off in order to carry out these tests.

Edit 2: After waiting for another 10 minutes the torrent is now running at line speed for the most part. The issue seems to be linked to business optimisation.

Is it only business customers who have reported this issue? Anyone on capped experiencing the same problem?

Optimisation only applies to Business users :) Is it all sorted now?

When I received the DNS error the following happened:
My network tray icon showed that there was no internet connectivity and I wasn't able to open any other site. The router didn't show that the internet connection was lost.

Purely out of interest @Afriguy, did you guys see a spike in usage yesterday once Windows 10 started automatically downloading the new TH2 update?

Z :)

Definitely sounds like a DNS issue to me, probably was temporary :)

Yes I'm aware , but if any capped users aren't experiencing the same poor performance with p2p, there's a stronger chance that it's linked to business optimisation.

Mine seems to be fixed for now, thanks for the tip. Will have to see tonight if the problem resurfaces.

Cool cool. The issue that produces your symptoms normally is a result of the optimisation shaper being fixed in the on position. But if it's working now, then the issue should be cleared :)

My thoughts exactly. :)

Easy fix in the future, just do an NSLOOKUP to any site and see what it gives you :) If it fails but responds with 'OK' from the router, there's definitely an issue with the server.

That's very odd.
Could you PM me your deets and a time you saw this happen?
