A ping, not a tracert ;)
The reason one pings bras.afrihost.com is to rule out the line/exchange.

In the case of the person you quoted, they won't be able to ping bras.afrihost.com which is to be expected as they're on old DSL infrastructure, and is evident from the trace of said check with it being unreachable...
 
Any @Afri people online? My line was having issues with uplink SNR so I did a "Fix my line" and now it's syncing at 64k up and 64k down (yes, 64k) and won't change :(

"After Hours Data will only be available to active Capped DSL clients who have a positive data balance. For example, if you have no available data (monthly allocation or top-up data) or your account has been Suspended or Paused, you will NOT receive free After-Hours data."

Thanks, makes no sense if u paid for the package and they willing to give you uncapped after hours, why does it matter if you are capped or not.
 
I'm really tired of sounding like a broken record but that 3rd to 4th hop is broken again latency wise tonight:

These are pretty strange results, no idea why that hop would be so high. I see someone else posted a ping to that same hop and didn't see the issue.
Drop me a PM with your DSL username and any other tests you've been able to collect and I can chat to our network team :)
 
I've just seen your mobile airtime and data which is valid for 1 year. It might be just what I'm looking for. You show the courier delivery system but that costs R149. Do you have an office here in Port Elizabeth so I can do it myself?

I'm afraid not :( We only have offices in JHB.

I'm afraid it doesn't, you need to have data on your monthly allocation in order to make use of midnight data.

Pinging bras.afrihost.com won't work here, as the infrastructure is old :(
Looks like congestion though, adamr - would you be able to test the same tests using the Telkom guest account or a backup ISP account?

Our tool does normally revert the sync rates, it can take a few mins though. PM me with your line number/ DSL username if the sync rates are still low and I'll manually adjust this for you.

Wait, is your Fix my Line working now? I thought it had to be stripped away as Telkom removed the ability for resellers to request such actions.
 
Afrihost, now with the voice option enabled on your network, will the functionality that I asked about a few months ago be re added to the graph in client zone, the previous excuse as to why it was removed and not re added was because of voice coming?
