My sister moved in to a new place and I helped her with the ADSL setup. Currently a 2 MB line but waiting for Telkom to change it to 4 MB and capped Afrihost account.
What does it mean if the router reports error packets and how can it be fixed?
The router reports something like 40 upstream and 7 downstream error packets.

Also, if a router gives a certain upstream and downstream speed in this case 508 and 2508, why can't I get close to that speeds doing a speed test through a browser?

Well, it's the speed of your ISP package.
Then you have to take into account ADSL overheads, so the line syncing at 2.5Mbps you would get about 2.2Mbps in a speedtest.

The errors you are seeing, out of how many packages is it? Would you mind posting your full line stats?

Thanks, I'm not there at the moment so can't do any more testing, I'll wait for Telkom to upgrade the line to 4 MB like she wants it, then I'll go back and do more tests to sort it out.

International seems on and off, also in Durban. Any AH guys on here today? Damn, need to stream the T20 and F1, why does it always happen on important sport days :(

There's clearly a problem throughout the country today with Afrihost. I suggest you get your act together and sort it out. >:(

No access to DSTV Now, Filmon.tv is dead slow.... Come on Afrihost I would like to watch some of the F1

I'm in Cape Town (South region) and am also experiencing extremely slow international browsing.

The Afrihost site only shows an orange light for the East (Durban) region. Hopefully they're aware that the problem is present elsewhere.

Can't connect to DSTV or stream F1 via SuperSport app, but I can browse international sites.

East Latency & Packet Loss [Medium Impact] 15:34, 03 Apr 2016

Clients in Durban and surrounds may experience packet and increased latency, affecting international sites/ services. Local sites should not be affected.
Our team are aware and urgently working on a fix.
Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

I would consider a speed test from a Pretoria based server as local. Local & international currently affected.

Having same performance issues,i'm running important stuff through my backup link at the moment
