Afrihost New Prices

So guys ... Had a look at Afrihost website and noticed the reduction in bundled products. Awesome stuff, as I would be saving 100 bucks. But then I looked at their other products and noticed that my "Gold Uncapped Account" formally coasting 697, now is silver. What gives, does that mean I moved lower on their priority list? Should I expect high pings and being extremely shaped?

Worst of all this was never communicated to me. Did I just get involuntarily downgraded. FYI I can't go past 4MB line as that's the max where I stay.
 
Those are some seriously cool prices.
R375 for a 4Mb and 50GB..... that's pretty much the definition for win.
 
Im on the 1mbps business uncapped account, just saw it is not available anymore. What happens to those of us who are on packages which are no longer available? Maybe Afriman can give us some answers.

So guys just a heads up. Afrihost told me via twitter that if you change to the normal uncapped from the business one you will not be able to revert back to your 1mbps account. Just needing some advice please, do I switch to a normal 2mbps uncapped account from my business uncapped 1mbps (for the same R397 p/m)? I do about 100GB p/month (150GB on the odd month) and the reason I'm on the business package is the thought of ever being shaped gives me nightmares (ex MWEB user). I know you guys are much more experienced in terms of decision making when it comes to ADSL usage. Thanks in advance.

I'd say go for the 2Meg. The extra speed will make up for the shaping.
 
Are the discount only applicable to bundles services?
My line is with Telkom, and I pay Afrihost R 397 for a 4Meg uncapped service.
According to the website this prices stays the same, whereas Axxess & Openweb for instance sell the service at R 295?

Yeah the data prices seems to stay the same. Only their line prices have dropped, resulting in a drop in the bundle prices.
I was hoping for a bit of a cheaper bundle price but I suppose I can't complain too much.
 
I forsee lots of questions being asked by customers whose bundles/data is cheaper. . . mostly about billing now... me too
