for support, choose Afrihost.
Hi all.
Im doing a fresh installation of 4Mbps uncapped dsl .
Who do i choose cystal web or afrihost.
There will be a lot of streaming on the line. So hopefully the isp does not shape the line speed .
Advice please.
I have the polar opposite experience.Personal experience:
Set up CW for a client and while everything *appeared* well, I've never had as much problems with any client's connection, ever.
At one point the ADSL line even got cancelled, because neither CW nor Telkom sent through an invoice for line-rental, everything was just in limbo. The DSL password was changed without the user asking for it (nor were they notified) a couple of times as well [I assumed due to CW hacks]
The CW portal wasn't working correctly for quite a while either.
Perhaps CW might be better, and yes, I got good vibes from them - but for clients - Afrihost has always been the better one to recommend to run of the mill users for me, in my experience over the last decade or so.
CrystalWeb is my primary ISP but over the holiday I used up all my cap and bought some extra through Afrihost.
Honestly could not tell the difference between the two. 20Mb/s line with sometimes 3 HD streams at the same time.
Have to add though that when I trailed Afrihost a few months ago it was terrible. So can't speak for their consistency.
