Afrihost - #PayBackTheMoney?

I don't want to put toothpaste back in the tube.
These guys led me to believe the matter was finalized, they even told me so and I agreed from my side.
My only issue is, they offered to refund me, and I accepted it, so all they need to do is make payment, and we're all going our separate ways...

I got angry again yesterday because after sending them a query, they start getting an attitude with me and imply I am taking the p1ss. That is what angers me... instead of saying, we'll check it out, they come and say things like "we have no record of this, are you sure you have the right company"

I had the same query... Supervisor even mailed me confirming that she forward my request to the accounts dept - I have mail trail but so far nothing... I haven't followed up as I feel the issues only affected me slightly and doesn't warrant the effort just to get some sort of refund.

It's called due process. If you don't pay your accounts and you get handed over you cannot simply go into Edgars or whatever and pay your account, because it now sits with legal. Now there are lawyers involved and everyone has to say their piece, once that is done an adjudication is made and the result will out. You cannot interrupt the process in the middle because you are in a hurry. You can't put toothpaste back in the tube.
It isn't a good analogy. ISPA does everything to avoid the extra step. They protect their members to that extent.

The other side of this coin, is proving a point really worth it. U are 1 of thousands of ppl that buy from them, and at the end of it all ur issue will get added to a file that will sit in the back of some dusty cabinet, filled under "who cares" never to be seen from again.

some times its just worth cutting ur losses and moving on.

I am considering it... because there has been zero movement from their side on this... not a word, nothing today!
I think if I haven't heard anything by 17:00 just going to move on and leave it..

My line was down, I never even bothered to ask for a refund on data that I was not able to use.

Since my line was with Afrihost I attempted to get a refund for line rental. Afrihost refused to refund me for my line that was down because "The issue was logged as intermittent connectivity" and they do not refund for such. My DSL was broken and their support logged the issue with telkom. They were suppose to refund me R1000 for downtime 10mbps for 10 weeks. In the end I cut my losses. I have received numerous "PM me and I will look into it" messages, (which I did) nothing ever happened.

No more ADSL no more Afrihost. (And no more telkom line)

Do not expect a refund from them.

Telkom "retention" department actually phoned me to find out why I cancelled. Nearly fell off my chair!

Time to move on, release some negative energy and embrace the weekend and let karma deal with Gian Visser.
Issue to rest... not going to worry about it anymore.
