Tests like speedtest , pings etc. don't really reveal much. Come and join us in Trackmania ;)
It must be very difficult if you've been struggling seven years to complete the race. :p

ps. I hope it a racing game. :D

Every single night at 18H00 my P2P goes to shyte. The other downloads can run at full speed, but P2P gets throttled after 18H00 till about 23H00 then it runs at normal speed.

And this is on a business uncapped account. And reason why I have a business account is because my wife works from home on some days and their system sends data over P2P. So I need a system that does not throttle or shape traffic at all. And some days I bring back work from home. And then having to struggle to get for example a Linux Distro over P2P is not fun at all. And lets not mention the Apple Updates....

Since the issues last night. Afrigreen been poor today and even worse tonight. Switched to normal Afrihost Business Account for now.

Hi guys

I'm running the pages now, if I do miss anything please post it up here or drop me a PM :)

This is my evenings last few days

Gaming dead for me. Diablo running over 1000ms.
Getting connection time out when trying to connect to battle.net forums
NNTP running at 26 KB/s on a 6MB line

During the day all the above have no issues. after about 18:00 every evening everything just drop to a crawl.

Not great at all :( I personally don't game online all that much, so can't comment too much on my experience there. However I have been tested NNTP stuff over the last few days and it's absolutely flying.

Do you have any tests that I can take a look at when things degrade for you?

Afrigreen was completely down tonight for a while. Seems to be back up now but speeds are horrible.

Last Result:
Download Speed: 1972 kbps (246.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 829 kbps (103.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 10 ms
9/24/2015, 12:56:40 AM

on a 6mbps line

These don't look great at all :(
Did you switch back to your regular account or troubleshoot with our team at all?

Fair enough.
But let's be honest - people get sick of running trace routes etc just to be told by AH "well we never had any issues" or "you shouldn't be seeing results like that" or "our system shows no issues" etc.
Doesn't help much.
Byt anyways.
Glad you are having an awesome experience and getting your money's worth.

While it can get frustrating, we do need to look at results to see if things can be pinpointed and fixed.

Sorry chipping in here but the business uncapped users like myself never got any AfriThanks - so that is a whole different fight.

And although it may not cost you anything as far as money is concerned, it does cost time and patience.

Apologies again, but I believe we chatted about this quite extensively in the past.
We always give back to your clients wherever possible - with this being no different.

I didn't get any AfriThanks data... on a capped account.

I can take a look here, all Capped clients on Afrigreen should have got the data.
Drop me a PM with your DSL username and I can see what data links have been allocated to your account.

Hi Afriman, your worst nightmare here, I should have move away from Afrigreen a long time ago, in fact it should read Afri..shait not Afrigreen, since the change download speeds 75% of my cap and ping, would you believe 36ms, (afri.. shait does not even want to open the speed test) best since I have cancelled some 21 days ago, hell I should have cancelled longer ago!

Sorry to hear about the poor experiences here. I think someone else mentioned in the thread that latency will be a bit higher as the only POP for now is in JHB - so you're routing via the North which does see an increase in latency.

Saying that though, the feedback has generally been quite good. Speedtest should definitely be opening, as should other services. Do you have any tests I can look at?

I personally haven't seen this from my end - running through some pretty extensive NNTP tests, and pulling down 1MB/s consistently. Apple updates should also run smoothly.
Does ClientZone reflect any shaping?

I don't think we ran any changes last night - we were all out braaing :)
Any tests I can check for you this morning?

@AfriGuy,

I’ve done a test with Zertop’s diagnostic tool and found that the second hop on international traceroutes are much higher than local. Is it normal or is there something wrong?
It doesn't affect speed tests or normal browsing.

Shouldn't be, just tested NNTP and that's maxing my line. Torrents are similar - what are your HTTP downloads like?
Yeah everything was fine. HTTP downloads and streaming were fine. Let me try some highly seeded torrents tonight and I'll post my findings.
