AfriGenie, any ideas as to why the routing keeps changing so often as per my post earlier.
I've asked our Team on AfriGreen to look into this. But I think this may be us working on the routing, or it could be work being done by Telkom.
Still much of the same slowness tonight... please advise?

I'm not too much of a fundi when it comes to this stuff so please advise? All I know is that everything's slow at the moment.
From the trace routes you can clearly see this is on the Afrigreen network and not Telkom, hop 2 & 3 are after Telkom. This has been going on since the weekend of the 8th. If you look at other peoples trace routes here you will notice the same thing, one minute Neotel IP's the next Afrihost IP's.
I did submit via clientzone during the weekend of the 8th, and got a snotty response, something about my router and I don't know what I am talking about. Ignored it.
What does AH have against streaming ? ... ... Surely a 10mb line should allow for a full HD stream along with some browsing ? ... maybe even 2 concurrent streams ? (1080 + 480)
The second hop is the connection between your line and the Exchange, but you are right, it should probably not be bouncing around like that.![]()
I can't even to begin to imagine why this would be happening, so I'll need to wait for the Technical people to share their findings.
In my case hop 1 is the exchange, pppoe on a notebook not a router, hop 2 IPC and hop 3 Afrihost....
What are you measuring speed on? A file download or torrent or a speedtest?
Did it on both accounts just read through my post again lol!Looks like you are on a legacy Afrihost account at the moment, could you switch to AfriGreen and see if that helps at all.
The latency on the second hop looks like there may be an issue on the line or at the Exchange.
As I said it was on youtube. I couldn't stream 144p
Which service are you streaming on at the moment?
Could you please run a traceroute to Youtube.com, we need to make sure your routing is correctly configured.

Zero throughput on my Afrigreen account right now. Was working brilliantly until about 10 minutes ago. Currently back go Afrihost Normal for the time being
