Afrihost POC Network - Afrigreen Feedback

TBH it's why I'm holding off on green, and vanilla afrihost is still giving me major lag, packet loss and ping spikes on Battlefield 4. Sooner is better

I don't think you need to hold off though, do you have an Afrigreen account yet? You can cut down a little on latency by connecting to Joburg servers, but reports have been good lately. Packet loss should't be an issue.

It won't hurt to try it out IMHO. Send me a PM and I can happily make an account available for you. :)

Any reason why P2P is dead slow. Just had a disconnect as well from AHG

Problem with drop was about 10 min ago... Would not have noticed the drop, but server popped up on TeamViewer

There shouldn't be any issues regarding P2P on the network currently. Can you send me an example?

Also, please send me a PM with your username so I can look into your dropped connection.

P2P is not a huge problem.
The problem is the disconnection, so not worried about the P2P at all, just made mention to see if there was a problem out there

Cool. :) I must say complaints around P2P has been few and far between recently. Are you specifically referring to Torrents?

I got your PM. I'll have a look at your account and respond ASAP.

Updating my Latex repo from UCT's mirror but it seems to be maxing at 250KB/s usually is full speed?

Hmm your traceroute isn't giving me much information here. It may be a firewall restriction.

How does this compare to any other FTP services you may be using?

Other FTP services are fine, little slower than usual but not as slow, figured it might be a routing issue with Tenet

This is from my server in France

I see. I'll see what I can find out for you. When did you start noticing the slower transfer rate?

Hmm tbh I think today, usually I'm doing small files that don't really have a chance to saturate the line. But can say for sure last week I had no problem saturating up or down.

NNTP seems to have no such problems.

Yeah NNTP looks good. It's a funny thing this, as I said, it may also be a firewall restriction. A good way to test this would be to do the same transfer on the old network. :)

Suddenly having line drops and extremely slow browsing with not being able to stream ...

Was fine since 14:00, just started now ?

:::EDIT:::

Restarted router and flushed the DNSs ... ... Seems to have fixed the issue ... maybe it was just an update or tweak somewhere

That doesn't sound good. :( Please send me a PM with your username so I can look into the drops.

Glad to hear it! :) Keep an eye on it for the evening. As far as my updates go, there is no scheduled testing.
