I've tested the same IP and it doesn't show any time outs. Why is your router timing out?

sheesh hop 15

It's already up - should have been from middle of last week when the Afrigreen users moved over from the POC.

I asked you on Friday whether my ping would be lower when the East IPC comes up, and AfriGuy said "Ping will be a bit higher on Afrigreen for now as you're routing via JHB.".

So which is it? Is it up or not? 200ms when WebAfrica gets 180 is pretty big in my books.

Thanks. MyBBB is very consistent and mostly give the same figures. SAIX on the other hand differs.

Totally agree. SAIX test is rubbish.
Last Result:
Download Speed: 64710 kbps (8088.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 494 kbps (61.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 49 ms
‎2015‎/‎10‎/‎20‎ ‎06‎:‎27‎:‎06‎ ‎PM

How can this be possible on my 10Mbps line in CPT area?
My BB and Ookla test both give me around 8.75 Download with 20ms ping.

I think there's been a bit of confusion around this topic.
So as it stands, Afrigreen has a POP in JHB - so that's where you're routing.

When production rolls out you'll have a POP in the East which is when you'll see latency decrease.

So with the shift happening tomorrow, do clients logging on using Afrigreen have to change anything?
No, we don't have to do anything. Both our accounts will work as normal. :)

Edit: Beaten by AfriGuy. :D

That's what I wanted to know. Thanks. I'm assuming with that article about moving, that production rollout is tomorrow?

Glad I could clear it up :)
Yeah, it's tomorrow. Doing the final bit of prep work tonight and hitting up the full migration tomorrow. Blurry eyes all around!

Hope everything goes as planned and everyone is happy with the new network. :)

OK, Good to know, I'll check in on Thursday, Giaan indicated production cutover is tomorrow after which there will be no more confusion for people in the East.

I'm sure it will be.
We've been planning this for a while now, so it's all systems go!
