Afrihost Retentions Non-Existent

The problem is that ISPs have to pass on the cost of the fibre installation and monthly fee to the customer otherwise they make a loss. A lot of ISPs are offering cheaper packages by effectively subsidising part of the monthly fee in the hope that they'll make it up later on. But how many ISPs has this forum seen come and go over the years that start off with great pricing, and then run into problems later on because the margins are so thin that they can't cover their costs and end up going under. The problem here is actually Octotel, not Afrihost. Octotel is the one charging the installation fee, and Octotel is effectively the entity dictating how much the final monthly fee will be.
Is the issue the OP is having the installation fee, or the higher monthly fee for the same service?

Never heard the saying buy cheap get cheap ??

i would never touch them not even at half the price all the old school ISP's are just crooks

I've been with them since March, haven't had many issues. Happy with the price I'm paying :)

Same here, been with them since we had fibre installed in the area and no issues. Each to his own I guess, I will use them whilst the service is decent and fulfills my needs. If it falls flat one can always move to another ISP.
