Afrihost shaping business uncapped

These results from 9:30pm saturday, when I'm getting very high, fluctuating pings in games, slow torrents & bad streaming. Everything seems ok right?

So if afrihost, crystalweb & webafrica capped work perfectly, and speedtest and ping/tracert are problem free across the board, but uncapped suffers high ping in games, slow torrent & buffering streaming, that would mean...?

Sorry to hear about the issues here, definitely sound like an odd one.
Shaping shouldn't be affecting latency, however shaping isn't applied to Business accounts so I think we can pretty much rule that out.

Would you be able to paste some test results over in our network feedback thread when you do see the issues creep in please? That thread is monitored closely for feedback. Thanks

Since when by the way? As you have told us countless times (and your website) - Business Uncapped is supposed to be unshaped. This is not on.

Why don't you do us ALL a favour, and STOP your torrenting during peak hours?

I've scheduled mine to happen automatically from midnight to 6am (6 hours!) and I've got plenty to watch. Why don't you do the same?

In that way the service providers have a slightly better chance at actually providing service to the rest of their customer base....

Well, that's the thing. I'm pretty certain when I signed up it was clearly (proudly) specified that business was unshaped. There was also only home and business, not home, premium & business.

So on the website they now say it is shaped, but afriguy and the client zone say it is 'unshaped'. Well, it is shaped, I am 99% sure of that. So someone is being deceptive or ignorant:

If I, hypothetically, was a superintendent for a golf estate with 4000 occupants and I went to Afrhost and said to them, "I want to get 4000 business packages for my tenants today, please". Do you reckon they would say, "Sorry our network is under strain". Probably. Not. I mean they are actively advertising hard all the time.

So if they lack capacity on the network (which is the reason they cite for 'semi-shaping' their uber premium business super ultra nearly uncapped at 1.2 K per month), we pay for that in performance and price, and afrihost says, 'sorry guys, we promise to only shape whenever the **** we want because what are you going to do about it anyway, peasant?'

So the title of this thread is accurate. Someone could have just told me that -_-

I suppose I find the idea of paying R1200 per month, excluding voice line, for 8Mbps SEMI-SHAPED* uncapped a bit ****ing ludicrous in 2016. Jesus how is it adsl prices are going up and service is getting worse?

I think context is important here, as is test data.
From your initial post made last month I could not see any issues and requested tests, but you didn't seem keen to move forward with this. You specifically mention gaming/ streaming being affected - something that definitely is not shaped.

AfriMan touches on the recent changes to Business on our official feedback thread. Speaking of, it's still a better idea to move the conversation there as it's more actively monitored.

Still, my initial answer to your post holds true, where realtime services are not shaped.

I don't actually have the energy for this.

Situation:

1. Afrihost 8Mbps uncapped business for 2-3 years
2. 8:30pm - 10:30pm every night cannot torrent, stream or game
3. Can torrent, stream & game perfectly on Webafrica & Crystal Web uncapped during these times

Therefore not line related.

4. AfriGuy says not shaping (I believe AfriGuy)
5. I'm not looking to troubleshoot or fix the network, I just want to play rocket league f*kin now

There, I'm done. If it pisses me off again after tonight I'll move to Crystal web. Kllaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrr
