Yes, it definitely does. That's not an exhaustive list - there are many more unshaped services that qualify as real time

We don't work with contention ratio, essentially that is a figure that could change from moment to moment, so it's ultimately not meaningful.

But any capped or business account will not be shaped for P2P, and Uncapped won't be when you turbocharge or if there is no shaping applied.

We don't know the details yet. As Greg said, we still have to iron out some details with MTN around this first :)

Ok what happens when the network exceeds demand. Will every body be shaped or throtled.:D

Need to know this if I need to jump ship or join Afrihost for a different package.

4mb line so, that speed, not trying to show a problem, I'm trying to show that although I have NO PROBLEMS, AH network test tool says otherwise, with random timeouts that do not exist.

Maybe I should start a thread on this subject.

Then people are shaped from the top down :) New capacity has just been introduced though which should help all clients in JHB of shaping :)

New capacity is also expected in CPT soon :)
 
Added IPC with reduced prices (and crap TI) means I'll be joining Afrihost again. I just hope I won't be shaped to death.

We shape Uncapped packages. We have added more capacity and are shaping less but as demand increases, we will need to shape more to manage the demand on the network.

Not sure if you had a change to read our shaping rules, we shape to manage demand. The new capacity has helped ease the shaping but if network demand grows again, we will need to shape more but the same rules apply - heaviest users to the lightest.

Does that mean that people who use the most amount of bandwidth will be shaped more than the rest?

I didn't know that AH has this type of policy.
