Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback (Pt2)

I was impressed with the service I received from Afrihost recently so I am thinking of dropping my current uncapped account for one at Afrihost. I am currently on 2mb uncapped account and usually use about 60 - 90 GB per month what package would you recommend?

2Mb uncapped costs R297.
For R299 you can get 75GB of [unshaped] cap.

I use in the region of 80GB a month on my home account, and am migrating to a higher speed, so a capped solution works out cheaper, and of course it's unshaped 24/7.

But for 60-90GB you should be getting very little shaping on the 2Mb home uncapped account.

There aren't any hard limits on our Uncapped accounts so you can use as much as you like.
What's your budget and current line speed? We can see from there :)

This is now a week that I`m shaped badly , afrihost have to spend more money to give us better service .You cant expect to get more clients and not spend money and I dont want to hear about IOS7 that is old news.Afrihost you better get your act right or else you will loose customers.Dont promise customers better service and you cant deliver.

Our network and our team are doing their best to relax the shaping as much as possible for Home Uncapped accounts. Realtime services shouldn't be affected though.

I see my torrents are shaped, which in theory I'm okay with because torrents get abused, but they're going at 15kb/s overall. That's like 3% of my line capacity. That's some crazy ass shaping there.
I've not been home yet to test out the real time services or my gaming latency yet. I will be testing my capped account as well, because that yielded the same issues last time I was home. 12 hour shift today, so you have some time!

This is hopeless. I moved to uncapped from a capped account last week and was very happy for the first few days. Now I am downloading at the grand speed of 15KB/s on a 1Mb line and have waited 5 hours so far for a 300 Mb file with another 1.5 hr remaining. It's so bad I can't even check for e-mails while I am downloading as the server just times out. I moved to uncapped so I could download a reasonable amount each month (probably about 50 Gb or so) without having to keep juggling what I want to download against bandwidth remaining. At this rate I won't get anywhere near that amount and I may as well have stayed on capped at R100 less.
I have periods of no shaping and periods of 25% shaping but the download speed stays the same - crap!!!

Change to my afrihost capped account and downloading at 110 KB/s so it is not exchange congestion, simply shaping.

I note the official line from afrihost seems to have changed now from "how can we help?" to "there's nothing wrong so better get used to it"
Currently looking at alternatives as I for one am not going to get used to this nonsense.

Works here,

But they have a notice on:

UPDATE 26 September 2013 14:00 Our engineers are reporting intermittent network issues at our Gallo Manor DC. We are resolving this as top priority, and hope to restore normal services shortly. We sincerely apologise to affected clients and assure them that we are addressing the issue as quickly as possible.

Despite being heavily shaped for most of the time on a 2mb uncapped account, by downloading after midnight and on weekends and making do with shaped downloading during the weekdays; I have downloaded 320 gigs so far this month. Youtube streaming works perfectly on 360p, But I normally download the HD Versions. Their support is first rate and Clientzone is wonderful. If you're not happy, try and find a better ISP overall. Hint ? You won't

Gonna have to agree, as much as everyone likes to complain afrihost still seems to be the best isp.
