@AfriTeam: Can I get it in black and white that the Business Uncapped accounts are NEVER shaped? I am about to click upgrade but I want to know that no matter how much I download, no matter how active the line is that it will never be shaped.
killer shaping in the weekend, and high international latency on weekends, happy days
still better than the other ISP's , lol
Can anyone else confirm this?
This is my home line and I want to game on it but the shaping has just irked me to the point that the extra R100 is worth it if I can abuse my line 24/7
well thats one of the reasons why I moved from MWEB to AH, that and the whole throttling story. I decided to upgrade but how long does it take to kick in? I have restarted my router and I am not noticing a change.
Upgrade what?
That should be done pretty quickly, unless it's not automated.from 2Mbps Home Uncapped to 2Mbps Business Uncapped
The process should be automated and could take an hour or more to take effect.
My upgrade from 2mb to 4mb took 2 hours to take effect.

Where's your line? Telkom or AH?
At Telkom mine took under 2 minutes.
At Afrihost, it works as follows: You put in the request, Afrihost puts it in a file, at 8am tomorrow Afrihost sends it to Telkom and Telkom queues it. Mine took about 36 hours in total. (I moved from 2Mb to 10Mb. Currently at 4Mb, waiting for someone to bump me to 10).
Yay, they lifted some of my shaping. I am now going to download the world!!!
Shaping Policy: 25% Download/ 12.5% P2P
Please fix this guys. This is not nice anymore!!!
I have my final month left with M-Web. I am definitely going to be keeping an eye out for these kinda of things before I signup.
Why are my colleagues also reporting heavy shaping at the moment on their Afrihost accounts. First time they have noticed it, for many of them, around this time.
