ClientZone says No Shaping Applied.

Yet I'm grabbing VLC Media Player from Filehippo @ 80kb/s

I did not check my shaping last night(between 6 and 8) but Youtube was buffering on 240p clips(2mb line). It was fine on Saturday and yesterday morning.

Shaping Policy: 25% Download/ 6.5% P2P

Just check mine. Seems their shaping engine is up to ****. I feel sorry for you guys.

Shaping Policy: No Shaping Applied

So I think this is the end. No BF4 or downloading for me. My ping is "out of this worldly good" and I am shaped to hell and back. Afrihost has just gone for a ball of ****!!!

And their once great myBB support guys are nowhere to be found!! Thanks guys!!

Question, would these kinds of shaping situations be applied to users who, say, had only done 20GB? Afaik it's global no matter what you've downloaded.

...

Also, any bets on when we'll witness today's tumble into mediocrity? I'll place 20 Internets on 9:45.

Well, had the timing pretty much spot-on, but I see there's no gradual tumble today like there was last week. Straight to 18.8%/6.25%. Once.

****ing pathetic.

You are correct!! My buddy that has only done sumin like 5GB now is shaped the same as me. He is furious!!! And I feel like a chop for ever recommending AfriHost. Won't happen again though. Not after this BS we have been fed for the last 2 weeks + now

Would be really interesting to know if the problem stems from within afrihost network or the mtn business backbone....

LOL I can see they are shaping the whole of SA again to try and get their "Real Time" services back up... Look how much my ping has changed since they started their awesome shaping..

Before I was shaped like a mofo

After their fantastic "Enough Bandwidth for everyone" shaping started

75% Download/ 75% P2P

Weird, the last time I looked at shaping it said 18% for both and I was getting 80kb/s still, now I'm getting 80kb/s but it's

Needink latest Clonezilla ISO, sigh.

What I don't get is. If P2P, Usenet are the heavy culprits, why not just shape those? Why the fudge should my legit HTTP be shaped to hell? It's fluctuating between 45-85KB/s

This is pretty unacceptable IMHO.

Well welcome to AfriCrap, where we argue we have enough capacity, but shape you to hell and back

So it's similar to MWEB then: You will be throttled but you don't know when you'll be throttled, or by how much.

And we're back!

Shaping Policy: 12.5% Download/ 6.25% P2P

Mine now says 50% Download/ 50% P2P

Yet my download rate doesn't change.

These numbers change like the American terrorist threat alert.. yellow, orange, red, yellow, red...

Never used to be, but yep, looks like it is now. So time to start looking for a better ISP. Any recommendations?
