10min later and shaped. Still better than other guys. Done 111gb on my 2mb account so far.

Similar amount of bandwidth used
75 % through a 750 Mb file and it failed - now need to start again but now 25% shaped and downloading at 15KB/s.
The most telling thing here is AH have obviously given up trying to explain / defend this - they have obviously decided that most people will just keep paying them every month rather than bother to change to another ISP. I wonder how many other pissed off AH clients are out there who either don't know about this forum or can't be bothered to complain.
I saw someone post here recently wondering if it would be possible to get 170 Gb a month on a 1MBs uncapped account with AH - Bwahahahaha

I hate giving negative feedback but I think it might be time to let rip on this...
My gf is at home and says the internet is not even working on her phone or laptop now... seriously! why am i paying for 10 meg speeds and getting nothing? started on saturday night when i went down to under 1 meg... seriously pissed off!

I'll add my 2c here. I think we can safely say that the product has intrinsically changed in the last 2 weeks. Speeds have been terrible, general browsing feels slow and laggy. Pings are all over the place. Shaping does not gradually kick in but hits like a ton of bricks. I have no issue with P2P being shaped, but at 10Kb/s on a 2 meg line is a bit rediculous. This is completely different to what was the norm 2 weeks ago.
HTTP downloads are being shaped to death as well. So no BF4 beta for any Afrihost Customers. I think we can all agree that we need an urgent answer as to what exactly is going on. Something has changed....save the yadda yadda high demand. What is causing the high demand and how long will it take. If i wanted an internet connection for real time services only I'll use my 3G contract, that works perfectly well for browsing and a bit of youtube or skype.
We have gone from having a connection that is usable for all services 95% of the day to barely usable 10% of the day for most services. Which what it boils down to is an 80% value reduction and 300% frustration increase. I have always stuck with Afrihost through all the difficult MTN times. But we are being treated like a idiots at the moment instead of valued customers and being fed a line of drivel. Don't say nothings wrong......something is wrong. What happened to being the most open ISP and owning up to mistakes and/or problems.
I'll end my rant with this....any bussines has their ups and downs and service problems, but telling customers that everything is fine when it clearly isn't is insulting, irritating and unnaceptable.

This is probably due to the number of new users they are taking on from MWeb... glad I'm still with MWeb, not throttled AND decent speeds

I added the stars in there myself, don't want an infringement on Afrihosts behalf.
Maybe they know better than to stand here getting flamed by people, and rather help people with issues they can solve.
