Okay everyone. Ive created a tool to help people run diagnostics on their internet. Running it once will give you everything you need to post on the forum. It is not something that needs to be installed - you just download and run.

http://zertop.com/files/diagnostics.zip

Use it, don't use it, I dont really mind. But this may help new forumites who arnt really that technologically connected as of yet.

This is awesome! Thanks for doing this (and being awesome by sharing with others). Will also check this out. We're hoping to have something like this eventually in ClientZone as well - but it's great that you've put this together :)

:/

This is really annoying

International Speedtest
Downloaded 5120.0 kilobytes in 32 seconds. (158.01 KB/s)

Local Speedtest
Downloaded 8775.2 kilobytes in 1:00 seconds. (144.89 KB/s)

Strange - no contention really in the cape at the moment - everyone's pretty much unshaped now.

Is this the same issue we've been chatting about on PM?

When I switch to my capped account:

International Speedtest
Downloaded 5120.0 kilobytes in 5 seconds. (1060.56 KB/s)

Local Speedtest
Downloaded 8775.2 kilobytes in 9 seconds. (976.83 KB/s)

Just a quick question, with the new telkom upgrades happening (4mb -> 10mb, 2mb -> 4mb, 1mb -> 2mb). If your line has been pushed from 2Mbps to 4Mbps telkom side. What or how is afrihost dealing with this? Because, my line is showing up as being a 4Mbp on Telkom side but when i run speed tests using unshaped capped data its still only running on a 2mb capacity...

Line will be upgraded, account speed will not be upgraded (yet)

Exactly what is happening to me, router shows 4Mbps but when using my Afrihost capped account is usually just goes up until 2Mbps, rarely reaches 2.5Mbps

Honestly don't know where the problem lies as my exchange is not congested.

Strange? Capped allows full line speed... was it you who posted the afrihost clientzone line test?

I think we've found the problem here - looks like your account was just not being picked up correctly by the system. Can you re-test now?

Sounds good. Will check this later as I'm on phone. What tests are included here?
