Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback (Pt2)

What product was this for, Home uncapped? Or all of them, because I don't want to waste my money on it if I can't stream!

Home uncapped. And as AfriGuy stated it may just be the vocal minority. BCause people dont generally come onto a forum to say everything is fine. But for me and quite a few others trying to stream between 5pm - 12 am is pretty much impossible.

Yeah, I had that experience back in May '13 on Home uncapped and the Capped product. It was shocking.

Looking to give Afrihost a second chance with the news of more capacity, etc.
 
Afriman - it seems my issue is deciding to me invisible for a few hours :D

so last night i decided to upgrade my home 1mb uncapped line to business just for the rest of the month to catch up on a few things, so i went to the client zone and changed it to business line which costed a pro rata of R33.33. after which i noticed that after the 25th of each month you cannot change back again due to the billing process so i went to change my line back immediately to the home uncapped, the system disclaimed that the changed will only take effect from the 1st december this made sense since i paid pro rata for the rest of the month. upon changing it back i was immediately shaped again.

i proceeded to log a support ticket, only to have a reply saying I've used data on my line amounting to 49gb (which is what i used the whole month so far) thus I've used data i cannot be refunded. i replied explaining the situation more clearly and now suddenly i get no response.

anyone else experience this?

Which would you like? Home or Business account? They cant refund you this month but if you want to cancel, it will take place on Dec 1st
 
Telkom Speed Test

After resetting port.
Their is a latency problem. Still need to investigate.
4Mbps Telkom line.:confused:

Well folks I have to say that my speed issues have been sorted out...they magically fixed themselves.

I got home now and wanted to send some damning evidence to afrihost support after Kyle asked me too, but I cannot. Everything is running 100% again :D Streaming, downloads, anything really...all getting a solid 420kB speed. Whoop!

I'll chalk it up to a telkom jinx. If it does happen again that perf goes jitter nuts I will mail support.

Being slowed down a bit, no shaping applied, but its still better than it was!
